Wicked Curlies

I was able to see a travelling prodution of Wicked last night, (it was fabulous!!!) but a few things especially made me happy. Glinda/Galinda (eventually to become the good witch) had 'gold hair with a gentle curl'. She was always the most popular girl, and she had curls. She flaunted them and loved them, and accepted them as another one of her amazing quirks. :) There were also curls on Elphaba's (eventually to become the wicked witch of the west) mother's head. But what really got me was the portrayal of Fiyero, the romantic 'lead' who had really curly hair (NATURALLY curly, the others from what I could tell had wigs) and yet he was still the hero- without sleek straight dark hair like dashing princes are 'supposed to have'. It's really nothing important, just something I noticed and appreciated.

Love the musical...not such a fan of the book.

Funny, but I always imagined the prince charmings with curly hair. I think in the musical "Into the Woods" the prince charmings have curly hair...can't remember for sure.

i absolutely LOVE Wicked!! I say the musical once (but would love to see it again and again) and i read the book after. I think if i read the book again without having the plot of the musical on my mind, i would like the book better. But i read it right after seeing the musical, so that made me not like the book as much.

My city's Fiyero didn't have curls
