Is there a less-expensive 'poo as good as JC Hair Cleansing Cream?

I have been using the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Hair-Cleansing-Cream-p-103.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-hair-cleansing-cream]JC HCC[/buylink] for about a month. I really like it. However, my hubby has told me to tighten the purse strings...so does anyone have any recommendations for a sulfate-free poo that is just a good. (Deva doesn't count, it's expensive, too!)
Currently, using JC HCC, Too Shea, CK and CCSS, RR or LOOB or MOP-C.
CK is the one!!

as of 6/17/10 - I have to add Joico!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names and each is a different color. But they all have to learn how to live in the same box. ~Anonymous

I could be remembering incorrectly here, and maybe she'll chime in, but I think xcptnl used Cream of Nature shampoo and really liked it. You can get it locally, usually in the ethnic section. I want to think she said it was really creamy and gentle. I think?

Trader Joes Nourish shampoo is really nice, sometimes I think I don't need to condition after I use it.

Nourish has Sodium Olefin c14-16 sulfonate, but it is listed near the bottom. (I actually have a bottle in my shower now...) Question is: does this dry the hair over time?

There are so many different chemical out there, I don't know what is definitely bad (like sodium lauryl sulfate) or not so bad (like decyl polyglucose). I guess I'm guanoing my own thread...but, please share what you know.

    sarcosinate
    sulfonate
    taurate

I have the Cream of Nature shampoo. It's in a beige bottle with red lettering. I picked it up at Sallys. This is a very gentle shampoo which I like - my only complaint is it is almost too gentle. I have the same problem with [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Hair-Cleansing-Cream-p-103.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-hair-cleansing-cream]JC Cleansing cream[/buylink] so this might be good for you. It is very 'conditioning' so with my fine hair I had to use a very light conditioner after it or my hair got weighed down. I have to use very little and make sure I rinse it real good. I hope that helps.

This is the one I have:

Ok, I just called the Sally's nearest to me...and they actually carry it!! YEAH!!! I'll be making a pilgrimage there...anything else that I need to get whilest I am there... any great conditioners? (similar to [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Too-Shea-Extra-Moisturizing-Conditioner-p-105.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-too-shea-extra-moisturizing-conditioner]Too Shea[/buylink]?) I have to get my money's worth to drive over there. Thanks for the info!!

    BTW, xcptnl, Love your hair!!

My hair is fine, too, but it's dry. I have to poo, I have tried co-washing, and I always get "eh" results, I get weighed down.

The directions on this say you don't even need to condition after. I never tried that but I might at some point because this was VERY conditioning.

Thanks for the hair compliment. I need to update my fotki - I know have ear length hair :)

So, I ran right over to Sally's today. I bought the Creme of Nature. This stuff smells just like shampoo. :tongue5: I can't wait to try it.

I wanted to add to this thread that I did some research yesterday looking for a replacement for HCC other than Creme of Nature. I was unable to find anything that was any cheaper. HCC is priced on par compared to other sulfate-free poos.

I am excited to try it. I can't wait to poo tomorrow. If it does work, I'll put it in the toiletry bag and use it when I travel. But, I've got a good feeling about it.

I love Creme of Nature. It is moisturizing but not enough to be used on it's own. I still need a light conditioner, at least, with it. It seems to do a good job washing. The smell is tolerable..a clean, herbal smell. Plus, my conditioner usually hides the smell anyways.
It doesn't wash off heavy build up from cones or oils, but if you're pretty much CG, it should work well for you.

I know when I used it I used a conditioner after but I think I was using one that was a bit heavy for this shampoo. I rotate shampoos too so the next time I used this one I will use a lighter conditioner.

I tried the Creme of nature this morning. I am not sure, I introduced 2 new variables at once...CON and Labella. My hair is kind of droopy today. Next time I poo, I'll use the CON and then use my normal products.

I don't know if you can get this in the United States, but shampoo by Urtekram is really good. It costs about 7 euro voor 500 milliliters and comes in a big bottle. You can also get it in containers of 250 milliliters. It is very gentle and there's even a no perfume version.

    Here is the website:

Hmmm... I guess I need to act fast. If I want another bottle, I better get it. However, I think in the long run, this settles the whole discussion for me. Jessicurl here I come. (Actually, I like the smell of the Citrus Lavendar so much that I think I had decided to go that way anyway.)

First of all, CoN does not have coco betaine...it has decyl glucocide (or something like that, if memory serves me correctly). I also heard from another hairboard, someone contacted the company and found out that the original formulas will still be sold at Sally's. The ones with sulfates will be sold at other stores.
Not sure if it's true, so I went ahead and bought 2 more bottles just in case.

Actually, the cleansing ingredients in order are: Trideceth-7 Carboxylic Acid , Decyl Polyglycoside. I'm going to have to pretend not to see this post so I can justify the Jessicurl. :tongue5:

I went to sallys the other day and they only had the CON for thin, limp hair.......not the red bottle. the woman there said they didnt know when they would get more in, and that she thought they werent going to carry it much longer. Dont know if all sallys are different. Ill try CVS and see if they stock it.....
