AG Mousse-Gel

msgibletmsgiblet Posts: 5,825Registered Users
I tried this for the first time today and I really like it. I got good hold, soft hair and nice volume. I also got a little spiralling starting at the root, which is pretty good since I didn't plop today. I'll have to use it a couple more times before I decide if it's a keeper. Here's a couple of pics taken 13 hours later -- it held up pretty well, especially considering I was out in the rain today:

Yes, it is CG and NO, NO, NO, I NEVER get tired of compliments! BUT I only post pics of good hair days and since I've been having so many bad hair days lately, the compliments are really appreciated right now. Thank you VERY much for yours.

Your hair is so pretty MSG. I love the big spirals!

I've seen the AG gel mousse - I'll be interested to see how you like it ... be sure to keep us updated. I am having a lot of luck with the mousses lately myself.

I am still a big fan of the cream / gel combination, but the mousses are a nice alternative for me. The bonus with them is that I seldom have to add to to it. I can get away with a leave-in and the mousse ... imagine that - curls with only 2 products !!!
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!

Yes, I only used a little PM Awapuhi Moisture Mist spray and the mousse-gel yesterday. My hair was very happy; I don't think it likes a lot of products.

Nope -- never ordered from them before. I went to Froogle.com to search for the cheapest price and they were the lowest. Even after shipping, total amount spent was lower than full retail product price. Now we'll have to see whether the product arrives intact -- or at all!

Oh, the risks we take to get hair products....

I'm another big fan of the cream/gel combo but lately, I've been using HE SMU mousse with some of my Nature's Organics asian pear and red tea condish left in and my hair has been clumping like crazy! The AG gel mousse sounds tempting now that I've found a store that sells AG hair items.

It's definitely on my 'to buy' list. Bonus ... I can buy it locally - imagine that.

Is it okay to have to relocate to accomodate your ever growing collection of hair products :angry7:

Went online and it is definately CG; though you do have fine hair whereas I have the thickest coarsest hair ever - might try it just to see - maybe not for the summer for me - but will let you know!

My hair is actually very thick - just baby fine and tends to lay flat to my head, which is why I can't get away with air drying, especially since I like volume. The Joiwhip might work better for your thick, coarse hair if you're looking to try out a mousse. I find it a little bit heavier than the AG.

What stores sell AG products (other than online)? I'd love to try some of their stuff. It would be great to save on shipping if possible.

Unfortunately, not many places seem to sell this line. You can search in your area here:

 Aw, y'all are too sweet! I bought mine here at CurlMart. I haven't used it for the past 2-3 days because product/experimenting junkie I am, I've been using other stuff. I'll get back to it and see if it's still doing as well. Hope it works for you guys that ordered it. I hate raving about a product and then it works for nobody but me. :sad8:

Good question. I do have to say, though, that it's been a long time since I've been to Trade Secret and I wasn't actually looking for any AG products -- in fact, I might not have even been familiar with them back then -- so they could have been right under my nose and I wouldn't have known it.
