Heated eyelash curlers

MipMip Registered Users Posts: 233 Curl Connoisseur
I've tried the 'standard' eye curlers which are non-heated and grip the eyelashes, and hate them. I'm considering purchasing heated eyelash curlers which look like a mascara wand. Has anyone every tried this sort of thing, and was it effective?

Thanks. :D

I was just thinking about this this morning. Funny you should ask! I have heard that they are wonderful - I can't wait for the responses. :D

i LOVE my heated eyelash curler!!!

i'm loathe to admit this, but i'm a klutz with the regular eyelash curlers. more often than not, i pinch myself and then don't get close enough to make the first pinch work properly....

    bleh!

so i got a heated one last year and it's SO much better!

use it AFTER putting on your mascara. hold it at the base for about 5 seconds and move up.

Try heating your eyelash curler with a blow-dryer........thats what I do. Use the concentrated nozzel attachmt I'm sure you get the same effect as a heated eyelash curler.

I had a roommate that heated her eyelash curler with a blow dryer. :D
Are there any particular types of heated curlers that are best?

    DON'T try this at home!

it is WAAAAAAAY too easy to overheat a metal eyelash curler and then burn yourself with it!

I've done this for years...but you have to be VERY, VERY careful. Its not for everyone.
Rou...what brand do you have? Maybe I'll buy one.

    Thanks for the responses. :D

It's not that I pinch myself with normal curlers, I just hate using them. When I clamp the thing around my lashes, I get the urge to blink and my hand starts shaking a bit and I think I'll pull my lashes out.

So, I went into Boots and got a heated one for £6. It says to use before applying mascara, but Rou has a habit of being right, so I'll try it both ways.

I'll post again when I've tried it.

Thanks Rou, you were right. :D I tried the curlers before and after applying mascara, and they definitely work much better if I use them after putting mascara on.

I don't care for them. They make my eyelashes dry and stiff.

If you are naturally curly, what is the benefit of an eyelash curler? Serious question. I tried one once and my eyelashes looked exactly the same.
    3a/b, fine, lots of it
