Second day hair products?

DancingbadgerDancingbadger Posts: 136Registered Users
hey guys, as my experimenting continues I find I prefer not having to do my hair if I don't want to. So far if I get a good day 1 I can get second day hair from a good pineapple. The only thing is that sometimes I get a lot of frizz at the top of my head from sleeping.

The products I'm using now are [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Gelebration-Spray-p-101.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-gelebration-spray]Jessicurl Gelebration Spray[/buylink] and Sebastien Lamanates Curl Perfecting Polish. I usually use the spray on day two. If I use water I get frizz.

I am on a search for those two Aussie products I've heard so much about. I can't find them at CVS so I am on a search.

What do you guys suggest for reviving my curls? I need more lift I hate when my hair hangs flat, even if it's curly. I also am getting yet another hair cut, I cannot believe how fast it grew!
My hair is a mix of 2b/3a and even a bit of 3b thrown in! I would call my hair wavycelli. It curls most when I leave it alone after wet scrunching. My hair has a spring factor of about 2 or 3 inches and has a very silky, medium texture.

I love ORS lock & twist, boots and set-it-free for second day hair. I will also use a little leave-in on my canopy frizz sometimes too.

I like Boots the best. I use a little [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Awe-Inspiraling-Spray-p-102.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-awe-inspiraling-spray]Awe Inspiraling spray[/buylink], spray a few squirts into my hand, mix a dab of Boots with it and smooth it over my canopy. I might scrunch a tiny bit into my ends with my hair flipped over too.
2b/3a, primarily use Jessicurl and DevaCurl products, Curls Hair Tea conditioner and various gels. I'm modified CG-ish since 5/04.

I don't get to have second day hair, so I have no recommendations  .

But, if you have a Walmart, they'll have the Aussie products. These are fastly becoming my HG gels :D

Boots, Awe Inspiralling spray, Qhemet Honeybush gel, Curls Curly Q potion, Recoil - all work for me on 2nd day hair. :)

Tonight I got some Tizz no Frizz at Ulta. But they didn't have the other aussie product. But that's to use as my gel. My the Sebastien Curl perfecting polish is running out and I am poor. I probably should curb my PJ tendencies anyways.

But I do want to cultivate second day hair. Once school starts any time savers are good.

I've thought of getting a satin sleep cap. Would that cut down on the frizz?

The satin sleep cap will help with frizz. I got ORS L&T at Sally's in the ethnic section for under $4.00. 8) Boots would be more expensive with shipping etc, but, you might want to check out the swap board for Boots. :D Other than that Boots, if from the UK.

Can I get the ORS L&T at a drugstore or trade secrets or someplace? Would it be in the ethnic section?

    I'm sure there's a Sally's around here somewhere. :)

I have not had luck finding ORS L&T at drugstores or anywhere else, but, some people have. I can find the ORS line, just not the L&T. I would check out the ethnic sections of both places, you never know :D

Great!! My CVS doesn't carry it, but, now I remember someone telling me they carried it there 8)

Maybe because I live in an urban area? They have a pretty big ethnic hair section.

Ok, so how would I use the stuff? I didn't buy it today because I need to hit the ATM

It's a gel, so would I scrunch it in? Or is it more creamy?

Sorry I missed you earlier post, but, I am glad you are loving it!! I love it too. My hair loves coconut, so, anything with that as an ingredient is normally a winner for me :D

I saw ORS L&T at the Target around here (also an urban area). I am also curious about how to use it, can you post the link to the thread you found? TIA! :)

Also, the Aussie products are available online at drugstore.com. And from what I've heard on this board, the satin sleep cap can cut down on frizz, lots of people here recommend it. I haven't tried it yet myself. I got one at Target but it turned out it had lace on it and I'm afraid that might be irritating. I hear you can get them at Sally's, I wonder if they are the same kind with the lace edging?
