Tinted Moisturizer

Ok ladies...need some help. Who makes a good tinted moisturizer for very fair skin? I am very pale with red hair so I need something that comes in a very, very light color. I am getting so fed up with regular foundation (including minerals) lately so I would like to try something else. Recommendations?

Thanks!

I've heard Laura Mercier has a good tinted moisturizer. From the colors shown, it looks like it comes in several light colors.

I've been thinking about ordering me some.

I have tried them all, from stilla(good) mac (good), oil of olay(all right) cosmidone(too heavy) and the one i keep going back to is dr. perriconne. it is light, but does cover and gives you a beautiful glow without being too much. the stilla seemed a bit too "glowy" for me because i have large pores and they made them stand out. i also recently tried IS CLINICAL perfect tint sunscreen. it gives the perfect golden bronze look and covers imperfections and looks natural on my fair skin. i love it!!!! sam

I wonder, do you lose anything in using a tinted moisturizer over a regular moisturizer? Would you still need to use a regular moisturizer at night? Would you still use an eye cream with the tinted moisturizer? Just something that popped into my head this morning while I was putting on my regular moisturizer.

I will look in to the Stila. The Laura Mercier one is kind of pricey but worth a look too since they have so many shades.

i'd only use a tinted moisturizer in the day to replace foundation. use a regular moisturizer at night. as you've noticed, tinted ones are more expensive, so save them for the times they'll be noticed.

So true, so true. Tinted moisturizers are definitely not cheap. I really want to get to the point of wearing no foundation at all, not even a tinted moisturizer. Overall my skin is really not that bad. I pretty much have my redness under control, now if I can just get the acne under control too, it's all good.

I go thru phases with tinted moisturizer: sometimes it's all I need...sometimes not so much. My skin is fair (tho not as fair as yours) and also prone to being a bit blotchy and easily irritated. It's also dry.

Of all the brands I've tried, the palest I've found is Juice Organics. The Light -- not the fair mind you, just the Light was actually too pale for me. Most other brands, the Light was almost too dark. It's also the moist moisturizing.

Dermalogica has the best coverage for me, but not nearly enough moisture. For the price, i think the Laura Mercier is a better buy, with a nice texture & moisture level.

Clinique has decent coverage, but again, not enough moisture for dry skin.

Honestly, in the severe winter weather, I get the best results from mixing some mineral make-up and/or a touch of shimmer powder into a silky rich moisturizer like L'Occitane or Dove.

My favorite cheapie, is by far, Kiss My Face. Great color, staying power, very gentle, & rich moisture. Around $10.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I know what you mean about alot of the lights being too dark. I run into that problem all the time. I will check into the ones you mentioned.

I tried Sephora tinted moisturizer and although the color match was dead on, it got very greasy after awhile and the finish wasn't very smooth. That was disappointing.

I like the Stila sheer tint moisturizer better than illuminating. It looks more natural.

My trick for tinted moisturizer is to mix my favorite moisturizer with regular foundation. That way I can control the amount of coverage and the color always matches.

About how much mineral powder do you use - a pencil eraser's worth? more? less?

I know I'm late to this thread but my favorite tinted moisturizer with spf is the Dr Perricone one...the light is pretty light and tinted moisturizers tend to be pretty forgiving on color match.
