I think it's time to reschedule another gathering, ladies. What do you think? :) Don't have a preference for dates, but it would be nice to see/meet some of you ladies.

Anyone that's interested, please post possible dates and places we could meet. Preferably places that are metro accessible and inexpensive. I'll post some potential meeting places alittle later on.
A wonderful mix of coils, curls, corkscrews, and kinks.

I'm pasting this from a previous curl gathering thread from Sunshine_One listing potential locales for a meetup. This list isn't exhaustive of the MANY places in the area we could choose, but just alittle something to get things started. Please feel free to add more, as well as potential dates, so that we can get the ball rolling. :)
    1. Down town DC (Connecticut Ave)

    California Pizza Kitchen or Bertucci's

Both restuarants serve great food and are affordable priced. Salads start @ $7.00. Also metro accessible (RED LINE faragut north or Dupont Circle) with shopping (Filelene's Basement) nearby.

    http://www.cpk.com/menu/

    http://www.bertuccis.com/Main_FaxableMenu.pdf

    2. Uptown DC

    Cheesecake Factory, Maggianno's, Boey Monger

Great shopping: Loehmanns, Filene's Basement, Border's Books,TJ Maxx, Lord & Taylor, PR Partners (hair products) Nieman Marcus, Saks to name a few. This location offers something for everyone. Also, don't let the bigger name restuarants deter you. I believe you can dine any where on "YOUR" budget. (I'm knwn fr getting around the city on $1.15):laughing9: It's all about what your order and how you order it. This will be a (I believe) lunch meeting so lunch is always cheaper. Also, to be honest IMO the Cosi's and Corner Bakeries are NOT that cheap. I tend to spend close to 10 bucks on average when I get lunch from these establishments during the work week.

    http://www.cheesecakefactory.com/menu.htm

    http://www.maggianos.com/foodbeverag...asp?menu=Lunch

I don't have a link for Boey Monger but it's a local sandwhich shop.

    3. Largo, MD

The Boulevard at the Capital Centre

    http://www.answers.com/topic/the-bou...capital-centre

This location has plenty of good affordable restuarants and shopping and is Metro accessible. You take the Blue line to Largo Town Center and get off at the last stop. A few of the popular places are: Gladys and Ron's Chicken and Waffles, Carolina Kitchen, Stone Fish Grill (my fave) and KOBE Steak house. There is also a Cold Stone Creamery and a DSW.

    4. Arlington, VA

    Pentagon City/Pentagon Row

Same deal Metro acess (Yellow & Blue lines) great restuarants to fit anyone's budget and shopping. Nordstrom, Macys in the mall. Pentagon Row has some really nice side walk cafe type places. Thiaphoon, & LeBanese Taverna are to popular restuarants. There is 2 Aveda locations: A Salon outside (Pentagon Row) Aveda store inside mall. Also, Trade Secret, Body shop, MAC store etc.

    http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?ID=157

    http://www.pentagonrow.com/

Now of course this list is not exhaustive of locales. Please feel free to add your location idea. I'm just ready to meet you ladies and have some fun so I thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Let me know what you think and then we can get our meeting date set and plan our fun day!!!

    Sun

NOTE:.. I just read mslanee1's post mentioned Silver Spring, MD that also, another great location. It is metro access (Red line get off SilverSpring) That area has been revitilized. New movie theater, huge Border's books, and an ULTA location! :bounce: Also, Macaroni Grill and Red Lobster are two the bigger name restuarants.

Does anyone have any date preferences? I think downtown Silver Spring is a good locale, especially since Ulta is there. We could all go hair product shopping after lunch. LOL!

All jokes aside, if anyone has a preferences, locale and date-wise, please post.

So, it looks like maybe we should try for Feb. 23rd?

Does anyone have a preference for where we should meet in Silver Spring? I've eaten at Cubanos(which is closer to the metro station than the other restaurants), but the food is delish. The prices are reasonable too. Atleast, I remember MY dish being reasonable. lol

I've eaten at Macaroni Grille, and their food is great too. Well, I've eaten at the Chicago-area ones (they are the best, hands down) and the one near, I believe Ft. Meade(and they were disappointing).

I don't have a preference but I just want to make sure whatever place we choose is reasonable for everyone.

So should we plan on the meet up being on Feb 23 in Silver Spring at 2/23 at Cubanos. Lets say at 1:30?

If so lets spread the word to the rest of the board and any other curlies that would like to attend.

I'd advise everyone to take a look at their menu pricing first. If it's alittle on the pricier side for you all, then we can pick another locale in the vicinity. But I have no problems with Cubanos. :)

There's a parking garage across the street from the restaurant, and parking on the street as well(i believe). I think it's free on the weekends. If you live near Metro, it's probably easier to just ride the train. The restaurant is a few blocks from the Silver Spring metro station.

Let's try to have a tally of whose attending a week before. That way, maybe we can make reservations so we don't have to wait too long for seating since it's not a huge restaurant, but still a good size. It's pretty popular.
