I'm having a problem with dryness and the majority of the problem is concentrated on one section of my hair. Here is the picture. You can't miss it cuz my hair is sticking up LOL

I was hoping someone could give me recommendations or any homemade recipes for dry hair. I was on Motowngirl.com and found these recipes. Have you guys ever tried them? http://www.motowngirl.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=12

I was thinking the honey/olive oil conditioner but I am afraid the honey will feel too sticky on my hair.

You're not alone. I have that in the crown of my hair. It is definitely a texture/protein sensitivity thing for me. The hair there is naturally a little coarser than the rest of my hair and is also protein sensitive. So, it will appear to be drier to the touch than the rest of the hair and a little more unmanageable.

I just try to add a little more oils and moisturizers to that area. And it also gets an extra dosing of product.

    Maria,

I have the same issues in almost exactly the same spot. I have done the EVOO/honey mixture and it was too sticky and hard to rinse out (and I really didn't notice a difference). However, using just straight EVOO with a plastic cap for one hour then cleansing and styling per my usual routine has worked wonders for me. HTH

The shine on your hair is lovely and I love the avatar. I have to disagree. Just because it's sticking out doesn't necesarrily mean dry. It looks like the angle/cut to that particular piece is making it stick up. But what do I know? Does it feel dry?

Oh it was only sticking up because I took out the scrunchie LOL it doesn't normally do that. And yeah it feels really dry. Of course I haven't washed my hair in a few days so that's probably why its dry... but damn it just feels like sandpaper LOL

OK its 12:16am and I'm in my kitchen making a cheesecake and I'm standing here with EVOO and honey in my hair :laughing7: My husband thinks I'm crazy. Damn this stuff is sticky

I did something like that, added a little glycerine and aloe vera juice too. Slept in it. Have you tried baggying yet? I will never have to buy another Ojon with this method.

The honey & Evoo totally eliminated my dry section. I warmed it in the microwave and applied it hot oil style on "dirty" dry hair twice since I Bc'd. Hope it helps you too Maria.

As a fellow said try bagging i think it will help your dry ends also try using conditioner and shampoo(if you use) That is specially designed for dry hair and do hot oil treatments it restore moisture to hair.I think it will help the situation.I've also heard that jojoba oil really helps dry hair and scalp!

    Maria,

I would try a moisturizing DT (not protein) with heat. Just a thought, can it be leftover relaxed hair?

Ladies I tried the EVOO and honey last night and WOW my hair was sticky as hell. I rinsed it out 2 hours later (yes around 2:30am) and my hair felt great.

Maya, no its not leftover relaxed hair. I think it doesn't help that I chopped off my hair incorrectly in that section. I didn't even use the correct scissors LOL I will definitely do this again next week.
