Satin pillow case enough?

Hey guys,

Is it enough to sleep with a satin pillow case w/o covering your hair at night to prevent damage? I try to avoid constricting my head for too long as I’m migraine prone:-(

Now that my hair is short, yes its ok. But when my hair was past my shoulders, no it wasn't. I had to sleep with a silk cap or my hair wouldn't come out the same in the AM.

Where do you buy your satin pillowcases? I have yet to find a local store that carries them. Do you buy yours online? TIA.

hmm, my mom bought me a bunch a while back. I think she got them at a "ethnic" beauty supply store. I'm sure Bed, Bath and Beyond or similar would have them. If not you can def find them online.

If satin scarves bother you, you can use a satin bonnet. They are restricting but can help protect your hair a little bit better than the satin pillowcases.

I do both. I sleep in a sexy satin bonnet every night, and my cotton pillow cases have all been replaced w/ satin ones (well, except for the decorative ones, lol). I figure with my dry hair issues, using both can't hurt.

Hmm, I just checked one of mine and it's made of 100% polyester!! It feels satin soft and it’s shiny though:?

I started sleeping on satin pillowcases (purchased at ethnic beauty supply stores & on eBay) & expanded to sleeping on satin sheet sets (purchased on eBay & JC Penny online). I really like the satin sheet set because I don't have to worry if my head slips off the pillow or if I change position.

    Hope that helps.

A sexy satin bonnet? I have not come across one of those yet. Please describe. To be honest. I don't use either now. I just tie it up and go to bed. I know I will now be punished by the Hair Gods! However, if I came across a sexy satin bonnet, I may turn over a new leaf.
