Has this happened to anyone else?

This morning I was feeling extremely thirsty, so I drank a small glass of water straight (the size of a small juice glass or bathroom cup). Then I immediately threw up the whole thing. The only other time I've thrown up since I've been pregnant I was sick. I've had a cold for the last week, but it hasn't affected my stomach so far.

Just wondering why that happened...

Could have been a number of reasons. Your gag reflex could be irritated (I've been trying hard not to throw up while brushing my teeth lately), your stomach could have been empty and the cold water could have set it off, or you could have a touch of something that made you vomit.

I didn't throw up much either in my early pregnancy - just a few times while driving (I got good at doing both at the same time ) and that was because my stomach was empty I think.

I'm been munching on some dry cereal and seem to be keeping that down so far. I've had trouble brushing my teeth without gagging a few times lately too, so maybe that's what it was.

Being pregnant is so weird...as soon as I get used to one set of symptoms, they go away and something else takes their place. :dontknow:

I had hardly any morning sickness at all, and never threw up in the first trimester. I'd get nauseous if I didn't eat for too long but that's it. Then around week 14, I ate a plain toasted english muffin for breakfast. I ate it in the car and threw it all up before I got to work which is a 5 minute walk from the car. It was completely sudden and unexpected, and it never happened again. I guess baby decided he didn't like it and decided to toss it back out.

I vomitted and dry heaved for almost 30 minutes last night...just woke up and had to run to the bathroom. And now I feel another episode coming on.:sad4: I just hope I can get home before it hits!

With my son my morning sickness was a nightmare! I threw up everything, even water. My gag reflex was really senistive and I had really bad heartburn. With my daughter on the other hand it was only a few weeks and not nearly as bad so... you know what they say all women and pregnancies are different.

Tip for the women who get queesy when brushing their teeth...

Hum while you are doing it. I had the same problem and someone suggested this to me, it really does help (even if you feel silly doing it)

I only threw up one time while I was pregnant, it was right after drinking a glass of orange juice in the morning. I think i just drank it to fast since it was so early.
