Mostly 3C?

prefacepreface Posts: 3Registered Users
So far as curliness, my hair varies a lot (especially around the neck, where it's almost straight), but overall I'm thinking it's probably 3C, just with a liberal amount of 3B and 3A. Am I right?

The first two pictures are of my hair dry and unbrushed, dry and brushed, and then wet and unbrushed.

Yeah, your curls look a lot looser than 3C. More 3b to me, also. Very pretty hair!

Is the first pic of unmanipulated hair? It almost looks like a maybe your hair was braided and then taken out. The last one looks 3c.

Andre's chart doesn't take into account strand texture, so technically, texture wise you're in the 3c range. Curl wise, if those pics are of your curls unmanipulated, I'd say 3a/3b (more 3a) because 3b's on up tend to spiral a bit more. Your curls appear to be more s-waves, though many have various textures/curl types on one head.

Regardless, you look to have a heatlhy head of curls. :)

Thanks. :) Yes, the first one was in a loose braid right after I washed it. I didn't think to mention it, since it was only braided for an hour or so.

Agree with the first picture is that a braidout? Anyway I'd say strand texture and curl size (from the last photo) 3c.

    I agree.

Any type of manipulation, product or styling technique-wise, can change what your hair looks like. The best way to determine your "type" is to take a picture of your hair w/o products. No styling creams, gels.... anything, and without too much manipulation beyond detangling while wet. And the pic should be of dry hair.

I went ahead and took new pictures. Unbrushed, unbraided, and dry. (the first one is slightly blurry, so I took another picture that zoomed in on the ends) Sorry about not doing that the first time :(

    You are a 3c. With possible 3b and a tad 4a.
I say that because thats how my hair looks and those are my textures : Majority 3c with some 3b and a little 4a
    A 3b/3c/ curlicious combo with a sprinkle of 4a.

Very pretty hair whatever it is. I'm not good with the classifying thing.

I am like the others, it is really hard to tell what another person's hair type is. We can't see it the way that you do. But for me looking at the pics, I would classify your hair as a 3B with some 3C tendencies when manipulated.
