December Moms, How We Doing?

CurlieGlamourGirlieCurlieGlamourGirlie Posts: 1,198Registered Users
I feel so wiped today. I think it's partly the weather since it's just cold, rainy and miserable here, but I'm so tired today and having stretching-type ligament pain lower down.

Other than that, no real complaints. Lately, the baby has been SUPER active - went to a classical concert the other night and apparently this kid's got mad class - loved the Bernstein and the Copland!!

How are you guys doing?

This baby has been SUPER active for months now. I'm terrified of what kind of terror is going to come out of there. I'm shocked I'm not black and blue down my right side since that's where I'm always getting kicked. :?

I've been really tired recently too. It's totally different type of fatigue than at the beginning though. In the first trimester, i wanted to sleep all the time. Now, I'm not sleepy (most of the time), but my body feels so tired I can barely move. I'll just stop in the middle of shopping at Target b/c I literally cannot take another step until I rest for a bit. I feel so pathetic.

Also, my doctor made the mistake of telling me they won't try to stop it if I go into labor at this point. So every day, I now wake up thinking "maybe I'll go into labor today" even though I know it won't likely happen for another month.

Oh, CGG - Did that baby of yours end up turning yet? You still doing baby-spinning stuff?

I was wondering the same. Thanks for posting.

I'm getting more and more excited! But I still feel awful. Let's see: nausea, heartburn, sciatica, worsening hip pain, exhaustion, dizziness, tremendous weight gain, hot flashes, extreme thirst and irregular sleep patterns. <sigh>

Also, the baby has no name and we haven't bought anything. His room hasn't been painted yet, either. I"m just too tired and my brain isn't working!

But I'm really starting to like the idea of having a little boy. And daughter is getting very excited, too.

    How about you???

Heeh, I'm the opposite. I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving to get everything ready, but I already assembled the co-sleeper last weekend in my "OMG they won't stop my labor and I could have the baby any moment" panic. :laughing9: We didn't have a whole room to get ready though, just some rearranging of our bedroom.

Ahh...I didn't realize we have so many babies due in December! I had 2 December babies (Dec 18 and Dec 31) and it really makes the holidays special and fun.

    Hey guys!!

Baby did turn and is ready to rock and roll! His/her head is down and I feel like they slip a few inches every day!!

We don't have a room to set up either. Baby will be in our bedroom. We got a new, larger dresser that will double as a changing table and we borrowed the cradle my dad built when my sister was born and that's in the room now too. So I feel a little better and more prepared. I washed all the baby clothes over the weekend and started packing the hospital bag.

Bailey - They told me that 2 visits ago. It shocked the heck out of me too!

I'm hopefully going to be a late December mom, but my due date is January.

I am TIRED!!! I've just about had it with being pregnant and I've just about had it with my toddler. The two together are a lethal combination. I was up for 2 hours last night rocking my 2 year old to sleep because he had a nightmare and he was especially grumpy because he kept sliding off my virtually non-existant lap!

Work tapers off in a couple of weeks and I am SO ready to be at home now!

I feel very uncomfortable. Last weekend I experienced swelling like never before and I had trouble moving around. I felt like someone had beaten me up. Now I wonder if I had a bug.

I feel better now but I'm swelling still. Last appt my bp was higher than usual. I knew it bc I felt so out of it. I have an appt tomorrow. They are watching me.

I am working from home now. I have constant pain.

Good news is baby's room is ready and toddler's new big girl room is done. We will use the same cradle as we did last time for the first few months. I feel like the rest of my house is a mess though - and I have no energy to finish cleaning up. DH is little help.

I feel like I'm only complaining in this response. I guess I need to vent. Due date is Dec 8 - I've been saying we'll have a t-giving baby. We'll see. Bottom line, I'm ready for this to be over.

MS - isn't so different with a toddler? Last time, when I was tired, I could hide and take a nap. Now, I have to make sure she's taken care of or DH is around to spend time with her. When I was sick last weekend, I just about lost it b/c she couldn't understand that I had no energy to play with her. Felt guilty but I was running out of patience. And your comment about the non-existent lap, made me chuckle - I so can relate!

I'll be 36 weeks along tomorrow and I can't even believe it! I have annoying, constant groin/crotch pain that is killing me. I think my baby has started to move down a bit because I can actually breath again, which is nice. My due date is two days after my final exam for the semester in nursing school, so I've worked out a deal with baby that under no circumstances is he to show his face outside my uterus until then. ;)

Other than the groin pain, I feel pretty good. The chiro has done wonders for my hip pain, I wish I'd started seeing him earlier. I'm getting excited and the baby's room is starting to come together nicely. I'm having a cervical check done today which I'm not that psyched about, but hopefully everything is still locked down tightly. I also have the Group B strep test today, so hopefully that will come out negative, as I really dont' want to deal with an IV during labor.

Ow ow ow! I'm sore all over today. Even my hands and forearms are sore, which doesn't make any sense to me since they're nowhere near where the baby is. Waaah! Plus, the only reason I'm at work today is b/c I don't want to use a vacation day, so I think I'm just going to wallow in self pity until I can go home. :sad2:

I had my 36 week appt today (though I'm almost 37 weeks). Cervix is closed and long. Baby is low and vertex but still floating slightly. I decided to get the flu shot.

I've been crampy on my left side (like menstrual type cramps) for the last few days. I know it doesn't mean much, but it's hard not to over interpret every little feeling I have at this point. I really want my little guy to stay put for a few more weeks, I'm not quite ready yet.

Are the rest of December babies moving any less these days? At every appointment, my dr has been telling me I should be feeling less kicks and more "wiggles" as the baby runs out of room. I almost told her last time to please tell that to the baby, b/c obviously he didn't get that memo. He's so active and he feels very strong! I feel like he's going to break me sometimes! :laughing9:

But the rest of us are having boys?

Anyway, I thought the end was in sight last night...but it was just gas... <sigh>

A 48 labor? Thanks for your warm wishes! LOL

Oh OK, maybe if it happens today, it won't be too bad. But from yesterday? Ugh... My father's is 12-5...so I wouldn't have minded that either...

Wavezncurls is having a girl, if I remember correctly.

I've had a sudden burst of energy this weekend, does that mean anything? I usually take naps on weekends, but I didn't take one at all this weekend, and on Saturday DH got tired of being out before I did. I don't think I'm feeling "nesty" though... at least I'm not wanting to scrub floors or anything. I did laundry all weekend like a madwoman, but I normally like doing laundry. I'm so ready for this to be over. I'm eating pineapple like it's going out of style and drinking tons of RLL tea. I guess eggplant parm is next on my list.

Yeah, wavez said she's having another little girl.

Pineapple brings on labour? I didn't know that... I eat it like crazy all the time, and did during pregnancy too.

Nope - we're having a surprise!! I've had more than a few people tell me I'm having a girl. (If I had to guess, that's what I'd say.)

Today I feel miserable. I'm tired, I'm cranky and uncomfortable.

You really might be surprised. EVERYBODY (myself included) thought I was having a girl when I was pregnant with Maxwell. I even had friends from my office give me girl clothes, they were so convinced.
It doesn't matter anyway, though. I was happy with who I got  .

    I'm also having a "surprise".

Early on, the old wives were all predicting girl but the current consensus seems to be boy.

Everybody and their dog thought I was having a boy last time... and they were right. I'm feeling at least a glimmer of hope that this one might be a girl.

She's adorable! And yes, she does favor her sister.

No. I need to talk to my OB and I haven't. They speculated that it could have been related to my placenta not providing enough oxygen/nutrition to her. I am anxious to know why too.

So I had my 39 week appointment today, and I'm starting to dialate. Yay! I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it's still exciting to know that something is happening in there. She also stripped my membranes (owww), so I've been cramping some. I'm really hoping to go this weekend. I swear if I have to go into work next week and hear from everyone "You're still here?" and "No baby?", I'm going to go insane! Every single day for like two weeks now. Don't they ever get tired of it?
