Protein-free natural conditioner?

Okay...I LOVE Suave tropical coconut for CO washing, but the ingredients are not too healthy (just my opinion, i am learning a lot about toxicity etc) so does anyone have any recommendations for a natural conditioner that does not contain a lot of protein? My hair can tolerate silk protein and also the protein in the suave coconut (coconut protein?).

I have been using Giovanni 50/50 and my hair feels like straw. I know I am either over conditioned or it is that my hair cannot tolerate the protein. Thanks for your help!

Do you want a co-washing conditioner, or a conditioning conditioner? Because Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner fits your criteria. It's becoming a big thing on the boards. (:

Well, I want a co-washing conditioner that gives me a good conditioned feel. Right now, like I said, I am using Giovanni and after I put the conditioner in, my hair feels like a tangled, straw-like mess! My curls are droopy and easily straighten as the day goes by! I am also using Giovanni gel...just might not be a good combination for me. I used to use Biosilk RHG with great results. I might have to try the Aubrey organics...i have heard a lot about them. THanks!

i use and love nature's gate herbal condish - no cones no proteins.

another good one (though too emollient for me) is the nature's gate hemp moisturizing condish.
