Any Flaxseed Gel Users?

imlaimla Posts: 163Registered Users
I recently tried a flaxseed gel recipe with great results. It instantly detangled my hair and my hair was really soft. I've since added it to my spritz and conditioner, and am very pleased with the results. Has anyone made their own flaxseed gel? Any recipes?[/u]

I've been hearing good stuff about it but haven't tried it yet. What's your recipe? Does it hold well? I have thick 4a and need lots of hold. I use Fantasia IC now and I really like it. But I can always be tempted to sway if the product is good.

Anoxia, my hair is fine and the flaxseed gel gives me light hold. If you're looking for a stronger hold, then Fantasia IC would be better. I use the flaxseed gel more for the detangling and softness it provides. I just used 2 tablespoons of the flax seeds and 1-1/2 cups of distilled water. I boiled for about 2-3 minutes. I have an antique tea kettle with strainer that I used and poured the liquid, while still warm, through it. You can add an EO to fragrance it if you like, but I didn't. I just added it to my spritz and conditioner.

love love love it! Just made some last night! Added peppermint and other stuff to it too, stinging nettles. My daughter's hair is sooo soft now! I could actually use a comb in it! WEEEE! My hair has definition, it's shiny, and my hair don't shine if you pay it! It hasn't felt this baby soft in a very long time, since I stopped perming it in 2000. It's so think though, i used almost all of it! I've got 5 pounds of seeds so I can make plenty!

Pacammi, I'm glad it worked for you and your daughter. My daughter's hair is braided right now, but I can't wait to use it on her. Detangling has always been a problem because her hair is so thick.

I know that's right! You would think it was WWE in my house when it's time to wash that hair! She took the comb and hid it one time! I tell you that child...
