    Oh. My. God.
WHERE have you been???? :D I'm so happy to see you! I think of you and your gorgeous hair all the time!

I remember you began trying this, and I recently went out and bought it with you in mind. Sadly, it doesn't have enough hold for me. I'm wondering if maybe I should try the Extra Gel?

I been using IC fantasia, but I apply oil before using it to prevent crunch and the dry look.

What kind of oil do you use?

I've been using my shea butter/olive oil mixture, but I think it is too heavy; I don't get good curls. I may just try olive oil alone.

I use coconut oil mixed with water. It seems to be working okay

Awwwww!!! Thanks! I've been around lurking...half the time my computer has been down. I think this gel only works for me. I think it's great! Just enough hold for me and smells great. When I use it I always get comments that I smell like the beach...which I think is a good thing. :? But you know you always think the grass is greener. The other day I went out and got Biolage Gelee...and this gel was too sticky and made my hair hard. Also, it didn't weigh my hair down enough...my hair became really poofy which I can't stand. Why are you looking for a replacement?

Yeah, the Biolage is a little sticky and at first I didn't like it. But I use about 5 pea-sized amounts and apply by raking and shaking in sections, and then diffuse dry. Then I use a pick at the roots and all over to "fluff".

But they reformulated this and added a water-soluble cone. The first day my hair is fine, but when I rinse my hair on second day it's like straw, very producty feeling and impossible to detangle. Never had this problem w/ the original.

Glad you like the Nexxus. It's great when you find something that works!

BTW, do you diffuse your hair? And are you still on CG?

So far I like Smooth & Shine curl activator gel with aloe. It doesn't make my hair hard and sticky.

I heard of this gel before. Do you use normal or the one for extra dry hair.

    UCurlGirl-

Yes, I'm still on CG. I diffuse sometimes depending on whether I'm pressed for time or if it's cold outside.

I really wanted the Biolage to work as an alternative gel. The first day it was good but a little to stiff for my taste. The second day I used it, it was horrible. So I'm gonna try and keep my PJism in check.

This is also one of my favorite gels along with ic fantasia. I use the regular formula and it makes my hair so soft and defined.

In the summer, I really like Ouidad Climate Control. It gives you serious crunch, but I've noticed that if you use Conditioner with oil, it'll take care of that.
Another that my hair loves, is AnGell by Devacurl. I, however, use the whole line. So far, I consider this to be my HG line.
I've been testing Jessicurl this summer. I like her styling aid because it gives me a very natural look, not good when it's humid though. Another thing that I am noticing with this line is that I am breaking out. :? HTH

I like both of these, a lot :!: I also like Batia & Aleeza bio-mineral, Fantasia IC (like so many other 3c curlies) and Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Hair Jelly. I also love Biolage Gellee...

Suave Aloe Vera Gel. Love it. However, I haven't been able to find it lately, so I've been using CVS brand Aloe Vera Gel (the kind you put on sunburns!) and have been having super-soft, crunch-free, flake-free curls.

Lately I haven't been using any gel only leave in conditioner, but what gel I do like and it's the gel I used in my album is Herbal Essence Humidity Defying Gel. It's the best gel I've used so far, but I haven't used a ton of products like some people *not a reference to curltopia* lol.

I like Aussie gel. High & Mighty over Glycerin.
The Mega is nice also, but doesn't leave my hair as soft/silky. Although, the hold is fine.

I've been big on Flax Seed gel lately. I mix mine up with coconut oil, honey, castor oil, and vitamin E. I'm still experimenting to get the crunch-factor as low as possible without sacrificing hold.

kemi shea butter pomade at night & suave creme conditioner and pro style black gel applied in the morning after rinsing my hair (no poo) out in the shower.

My co-workers yesterday asked me what I do to get my curls so shiny.
