Brocato Curl Products

I noticed a lot of Brocato products I hadn't before at Trade Secret.

Has anyone tried the two curl products?
http://www.brocatohair.com/Html/style2.html and
http://www.brocatohair.com/Html/style3.html

I've tried the Splash sulfate-free shampoo. I can't remember if I found it drying because of the protein or not: http://www.brocatohair.com/Html/shamp2.html

The volume sulfate-free shampoo looks interesting because of the grape extracts: http://www.brocatohair.com/Html/shamp15.html

How about the Saturate shampoo? http://www.brocatohair.com/Html/shamp6.html

There are plenty of other products to browse through on the Brocato site as well.

I am SUCH a PJ to admit this.

Ah, yes...Brocato. Shampoos are too harsh, despite having the whole sulfate-free thing happening. They're probably that concentrated because some of their stylers have waxes, petroleum, etc that might need to be removed. But I had major flash-drying with the Splash and Cloud 9 poos (hair felt dry--like I'd stepped under a blow dryer instantly--just after rinsing it out, while still in the shower).

    Curlinterrupted Curl Calming Balm ingreds:
water, propylene glycol, cyclomethicone, phenyl trimethicone, hexylene glycol, c13-14 ISOPARAFFIN, laureth-7, polyacrylamide, dimethicone, dimethiconol, polyurethane-14, amp-acrylates copolymer, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, fragrance.

I've got a sample tube of Curlkarma Curl Energizing Cream and one of the Texture Creme, but it's got to get cool/cold enough for me to test creams.

Holdon Styling Gel is really nice, in my opinion.

I can't remember which shampoo I used, but it was horrible! It was like using dish soap!

I also can't remember which conditioner I used, but it was heavenly! I think it was the deep treatment. It was super moisturizing, but it was a sample from Trade Secret/Beauty Express.

Which reminds me, I need to go there to see what other samples they have left that I've been missing out on since becoming a member of their Style Club. :(

Here are the ingredients for the Curlkarma Curl Energizing Cream:

Water, cetearyl alcohol, cetly alcohol, cetrimonium chloride, ceteareth-20, hydroxyethlcellulose, polyurethane-14, amodimethlcone, amp-acrylates copolymer, trideceth-10, tetrasodium edta, citric acid, methylparaben, dmdm hydantoin, propylparaben, fragrance.

Are the paparabens the waxes? Is it best to stay away from waxes in most/all products? Are those alcohols the good ones? I think I've forgotten everything I've ever learned on this hair board.

The parabens are preservatives. I don't think they're waxes at all. The alcohols are for moisturizing or conditioning, I can't remember. They're the good ones.
