LOOB question

Hi curlies!

So, when the first wave of LOOB love hit, I was in UT and decided to give it a try. I HATED IT. It made my hair so weighed down and greasy looking that I threw it away.

Since moving to MD, I've been looking for something to control frizz, add some definition and last all day. Out of desperation and against my better judgement, I tried LOOB again.

WOW! What a difference climate makes. I've been using it for about 4 days now, and my hair is very wavy/curly, has little frizz and I can actually get second day hair (something I've only recently had issues with).

For LOOB users: How consistent are your results with this product? For whatever reason, I'll find products that I like and w/in a month I'm off to the store yet again b/c they have "stopped working" in my hair. I'm really hoping this is the exception! TIA!

(PS - I'm using this under Angell or this cheap Suave clear gel in the purple tube - just found that gem yesterday for like $2!)

Once I disovered the right "cocktail" to mix it with, my results with it have been pretty darn consistent. I would say I have good hair days with it 95% of the time--the other 5% of the time, it's usually something I've done differently with technique (e.g. I air-dried instead of diffused, or I diffused but touched my hair too much, or I used a t-shirt instead of a MF towel to scrunch, etc.).
2A or 3A, depending on the day...
Always experimenting! Current go-to routine: Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo, Pantene Curls Conditioner, Bumble & Bumble Holding Foam, Aussie Aussome Volume Gel

jennifermaria: What's your LOOB cocktail? What's your application technique?

    Hi earcmra,

The cocktail's in my sig below :).

For technique, I rake in the RC conditioner into soaking wet hair, then rake in LOOB (I typically don't rake in products, but for some reason, with these two products, I'm able to do that and still get clumpy curls), then scrunch in a small amount of the Aussie gel. I scrunch with a microfiber towel after that, to encourage the curls, then a scrunch in a bit more of the Aussie gel, then I plop for 10-15 min. After that, I take the towel off while hanging my head upside down, and diffuse using the pixiegirl method (diffuser up to the scalp for 1-2 min, then turn off before moving to a new section). Then I gently go right-side up and kind of fluff up my curls and if it's got any frizz, I spray on some Set It Free and srunch--but then I try to avoid touching my hair after that (not always successful, but I try ;)).

I had kind of an ok hair day today. Not sure what it was, but it's rare nowadays!

I'm happy to hear you are getting good results jennifermaria! I'm really liking this stuff, so I hope it continues to work for me.

Just an aside, I also use the V-05 chamomile tea therapy for a co-wash. I wonder if these two products together are giving us good results? Hmmmmm....

You can get it at a groccery store or any place that sells those kinds of products. I got mine at Target, but you can get it all over. Just look for the Lo'real section, it's in a black tub.
