BTW - What are you currently using?
My cooler weather gel is Graham Webb Making Waves gel and for me it works well with any leave-in or conditioner. I used it on my Italy trip last week (weather was cold over there) and my hair held up quite nicely!
2b/3a and 3b on occasion!

Currently I am CG:
Twice a month: scalp massage with a scalp oil, leave overnight & shampoo in the A.M. sometimes I use a gentle sulfated shampoo here.
DT w/ heat once a week (or more) w/ [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Too-Shea-Extra-Moisturizing-Conditioner-p-105.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-too-shea-extra-moisturizing-conditioner]Too Shea[/buylink]
Shampoo twice a week w/ Ana Banana by Circle of Friends (sulfate free)
here is the mix up and where stymied
I like CK, but I have trouble using the proper amount; either flat 'n noodly or selected pretty ringlets with puffy patches between....not great.
I like Jessicurl RR & [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Confident-Coils-Styling-Solution-p-116.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-confident-coils-styling-solution]CCSS[/buylink], but my hair seems to weight down too much for these & still looks fizzy.
My hairstylist, Leo Freeman, used Devacurl B'leavin, Angell & Set it free and my hair aways looks amazing under her hands. I bought the products, I already had C1 and although I really like Set it free, I use too much and my hair gets gummy but looks wonderful! I think I like B'leavin, but the jelly texture takes some getting used to and I'm not sure I am getting the best product disbursment. I work it through my wet hands to break down all the jelly blobs and then with my head flipped I puddle my long hair upward with my hands. I do this with 2 nickel jelly blobs.
I am about to replace my CK w/ liter #2. I will be needing gel too and wanted to test other waters and remain CG true.
Thanks in advance for your help

Do you plop? Have you tried it?

If I use it alone, I get stringy curls. Angell on top of CK and in general just causes my hair to poof - good volume tho.
Jessicurl stylers are my go to products, but despite shiny, nice hair, I get loose waves and not much volume - the oils weigh my hair down.
Other hard holding gels are BRHG, Abba Weightless and I've heard the Alagio curl creme is hard, too.

I just wish they were all curly spirals like after my hairstylist does them, sigh.

I also have the same issues w/ Jessicurl stylers - I love the way they make my hair feel, but it gets really weighed down. No matter how I use them, it just never seems to work.
I think that's why I like LOOB so much; a lot of people find it drying, but I think that may actually be a GOOD thing for me... It's like if everything I use is moisturizing my hair just goes limp and *gasp* straight, so I need something a little drying in there for balance.
Anyway, try LOOB! :laughing8:

Hey annie may,
May I suggest the one I'm using... it's called L'anza "Zero weight styling gel" it's a great hold and it very light - just as it says on the tin. It's alcohol-free too so could help the frizz?
Here's a website, but if you are from the US maybe googling it might come up some good results...

PS: I also think my hair is behaving well because I've scheduled a much needed hair cut.
For years I didn't even realize what nice wavy hair I have because I always used a blow dryer and a brush- or I wore a hat!
Now I love using Jessicurl products! My hair is soft, shiny and bouncy. It has waves and curls! Here's what I do: After washing and conditioning my hair with Gentle Lather shampoo and TooShea extra moisturing cond. (sometimes I use the aloba daily condish but I just switched to the more moisturing one), I use a wide tooth comb on dripping wet hair. I apply Rocking Ringlets (about three nickel sized puddles) scrunching, scrunching, then I apply [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Confident-Coils-Styling-Solution-p-116.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-confident-coils-styling-solution]Confident coils[/buylink] (about one nickel and two dime sized puddles)
Scrunch, scrunch.. then Scrunch with a micro towel, plop in a big micro fiber towel for about 20-30 minutes while I finish getting ready... take the towel off and voila! Ringlets and waves! Adjust it slightly then don't touch it until I get to work (hour long commute in toasty warm car) and when it's completely dry, I use a very wide toothed pick to fluff up a little bit and get rid of the wet look. It looks great all day! No frizz, no droop! One thing I discovered is that no matter how soft and nice it feels, I have to keep my hands off! It looks better through the day if I don't touch it.
I occasionally switch out the Rocking Ringlets for [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] which works really great for making even more curls!
I hope this helps,
