I'm trying to repair a relationship with my sister. We just grew apart but when we're around each other it's awkward and sometimes snappy. I don't want it to get worse so I want us to fix it now.

What's your relationship like? How do you make it work?

My brother and I get on really well when we see each other, we just don't see each other very often.

I havent spoke or seen my sisters/brother since my wedding. that was over 4 years ago. However, that is due to my unrelationship with my father. I havent spoke to him since 3 1/2 years ago. More than likely I probably wont speak to my sisters and brother again til they are out on thier own. If i'm supposed to be heartbroken now for not havent talked to them, its not going to happen.

I've never had any kind of relationship with my siblings. I have 2 half sisters (different mother) and a half brother (different father) They are way older than me. I'm talking 11-20 years older. I never lived with my sisters and can count on one hand how many times I've seen them in my life.

My brother I see more often but by the time I was three he moved away for college and never came back. Sometimes he tried to be more of the father type since he was so much older (15 years) I'm like hello! I already have a father thank you. Some parts of his personality I just don't like.

Even though I am grown now I don't feel like I have much in common with my siblings. I certainly never bonded with them at all. I've always felt like the only child growing up.

I have two younger sisters - one I have a really good relationship with, the other not so much.

My youngest sister is only 20, but she & I get along so well and are very close. We do things together all the time and always keep in touch. We can confide in each other about anything. Because she's 8 years younger than me, I still think of her as my baby sister (which she hates :D) but she's turned out to be a creative, smart woman and I'm so proud of her.

My other sister is just 2 years younger than me and while we were close when we were kids, she & I have sort of gone our separate ways as adults. It's not that we don't get along, because when we talk we do, but there are so many choices she's made in life that I don't agree with and I truly believe she may be a pathological liar. I love her and I wish we could be close again, but I don't know if I can trust her again. I can't tell when she's lying about something or not anymore and I'm even afraid to have her at my house because I'm afraid she'll steal something. That's based on past experience - she's done it to me, my sister, and my mom. Wow well I didn't realize how much I missed my relationship with her until writing all this out. I keep hoping someday she'll become the person I know she can be, but I've been counting on that for almost 10 years now.

I'm 25 with 4 sisters and a brother who vary in age. My youngest sister is 18, oldest is 40, and we all get along absolutely great. Those I live close to I see a few times a week and those who live further I talk to at least once a week and e-mail a lot and my brother who is posted overseas with the military for now gets in touch when he can. This is not to say we don't fight, but in my hot-tempered Latin/Caribbean family, fights don't last - and that's how I am in general, I blow off steam, vent, sleep on it and I'm fine and all is forgotten. None of us bear grudges and I don't think we could ever do this not talking thing. We have been through a lot as a family and have always been each other's support. They have been so good to me and I am so blessed in them.

I have four siblings. One sister is a religious wacko who has made it clear that she thinks I'm something close to possessed by Satan. We don't talk much. My other sister and I have some issues sometimes but we mostly get along. My brothers, I would have to kill if I lived with but since we don't live together, we get along too. :o

I had to go with "other". My relationship with my sister is totally different than my relationship with my brother. My sister and I are very, very close; we lived together until I got married. I moved here to be closer to her, in fact. We talk at least 4 times a week, and see each other on campus a couple times a week.

My brother and I can be in the same room together for about 2 hours before we start making each other crazy. I have some huge issues with how he's chosen to live his life and I think he takes advantage of our mom (although Mom lets him do that). That being said, if anyone says anything against him I'll kick their ass.

My brothers and I are best friends. Although we're all have really different styles, we are so similar that we really know how to feed off each other and have a great time. I see my younger brother almost everyday and my older (but closer) brother and I go out at least three nights a week.
My older bro is moving back to Philly tomorrow after living close to me for three years. We've already made plans for me to visit him next weekend! I'm still trying to transition :)
There is nobody else I'd rather be around than either of them. The three of us together is even better - we really bring out the best in one another.

I have one biological brother. We are very close. We live over an hour apart, but we talk at least once every 2 weeks. We go boating and skiing and hiking together several times every summer. He is a man I truly respect and admire. His wife is a darling woman and I have a wonderful relationship with her too. They both are warm, caring and generous, and not just to me, but to everyone in the families and total strangers. They are open-minded, intelligent and so much fun. We end up laughing so much I cannot love but to hang out with them.

I have one foster brother that keeps in touch with me pretty regularly The other 2 see me when they run into me and that's it. We're friendly and nice but there's no closeness, no real bond, but we were very young when we lived together and they went back to their biological family pretty quickly. The other was with us during my and his teenage years, and we're very different, in outlook and attitude, but we're still close.

For the poll, I answered, "Fine" but it's more of a mixture of both fine and great, if that makes any sense.

I have one sister, who is 15 years older than me(I'll be 24 in a few weeks, and she just turned 39), and has two kids, so we don't spend as much time together like we used to(because of her obligations as a mother). But when we hang out, it's like we're the same person.

We talk alike, sound alike(our mother can't tell our voices apart over the phone)respond to questions with the exact same answer, look alike, etc......I could go on and on. We have a really good relationship.

There were obviously issues growing up, due to the age different. I was the smart-mouthed younger sister(who pretty much got her way...hehe) and she was the older sister who had to set an example. We'd get into arguments all the time. Can you picture a 4 yr old telling her 19 yr old sister to shut up constantly, and having the elder of the two arguing back? Too funny!

I have four sisters and we're pretty close, some of us more than others. We like to hang out together and do stuff like friends would. My husband is an only child and he does not get it at all. Not one bit.

I selected other. I can't say I don't get along, we just aren't close. She was a rebellious child and still has problems as an adult. We just don't have anything in common and she lives far away. I am trying to email her more to build more of a relationship, but I don't know if she is interested.

    I have two brothers-one is 4 years older,one is 5 years younger.
The age gap and gender difference had something to do with the fact that we were never very close.
But-we see each ither at family things and get along well in those situations.I have a great SIL and one that is so-so(I do get along with her, just don't "get" her much of the time.
Sometimes I wish I was closer to my brothers.

my brother is 3 yrs older and we revert to giddy silly 10 year olds when we are around each other and talk on the phone. We show "love" by calling each other doody head.

I dont know how old my sister is, and she barely acknolwedges my existence. I dont call her and she doesnt call me. It works just fine.
