get your wavy parts to blend with your curly parts? Or do you? I am 2b in the front, crown and front left side of my head and 3c/4a everywhere else. I'd really love to not have to wear a headband all the time but my wavy parts wont stand up, they just flop.

Have you tried clipping them as they dry or are they really fine waves?

In time, the curling iron will damage those sections of hair and they will wave even less. That's what happened to my wavy top and sides after years of curling iron use. Those parts of my hair still don't curl as much as I would like, so I usually just pull the sides up to the top with mini clips so that the curlier underneath hair will show. I may try doing some pincurls...
