Can I transform my hair?

Right now my hair looks exactly like this and is about the same length:

Is this possible, can I reach different hair styling techniques to achieve these looks?

I'm not sure if this helps, but I can get different looks depending how I apply products. If I just wash and go I get little straw like coils. If I go through my hair section by section and brush the gel through I get larger clumped curls.

Texture-wise all heads are very similar, but to get the shape you would have to have your hair cut in longer layers.

I bet you could do it. I'd go to MJ's for them to do your first shingling. Then you'd have a better idea of how to do it yoruself at home.

you can save alot of money by not going to them soley for shingling. its just applying heavy (or lots of) product in section by section to weigh down your hair. but i think shingling/doing what curlee q does and a good cut would definetly help.

But I do think you need to de-bulk your hair or texturize a little. Don't kill me for saying texturize...
