Wishful Thinking...

What do you want your hair to do? Thought I'd start this thread and maybe get some ideas bouncing through people's heads and we can help each other. If you've figured out a way to combat someone's issue tell them how. I'll go first lol.

I love my volume, my texture is fine, I just want more definition without having to spend a buttload of time.

I already know curly nikki's answer lol.

My hair has lots of texture. Waves, curls etc. I'm 3C-4A-ish. Basically, I just want it to naturally be gorgeous. Shine like the sun and be as soft as silk. Most importantly GROW! :laughing9:

    haha...I know Heather

I want BIG hair. I'd prefer volume over length. I actually like the chin length bob thing I've got going on. I just wish I could expand it (east to west) a few inches. To attempt this, I've been doing Cassia treatments, drinking my water and taking vitamins. It may be a long shot, but its worth a try :)

I use to want my hair to be slightly flatter (like the girls fotki album you posted). I recently figured out a way. I have true 4a hair. Seriously, my hair is thick, cute, very curly/coily afro when dry. I came to the conclusion that only heavy gels (with the right ingredients) will give me the look I want. I tried the lighter gel (AOMM, bioterra). While they dried with a soft natural touch, I need a gel to slightly weigh my hair down just a little bit that leaves a shine. Lately I've been sampling different moisturizers (shea moisture, waiting on qhemet amla cream and olive detangler) under my IC Fantasia. The more moisturizing the moisturizer, the better the gel will react (firm hold with shine). I may even sample the clear ecostyler gel since that has been recommended. I've been getting great results so far. I post the results of my products that make my hg. I feel that I am very close.

I want my hair to grow too like many of the other people listed, but i'm also like nikki. I'd take some damned good definition over length right now. I figure as soon as I start treating it better it'll grow, so it's my fault. Also when I start treating it better I might get some better def as well.

Friggin hair, it gets on my nerves sometimes lol. Why can't I just wake up cute?

I think I'm gonna try the cassia, not for my thickness, but for moisture and improve my texture which should help with def.

Curly wife, I think the eco gel is a good idea. I'm gonna try it too. Fantasia just didn't weigh my hair down enough for me. My hair likes heavier gels too. Try HE Set me up too. I got really good results from it. I'd suggest the Giovanni Direct Leave in also if you haven't already tried it. It gives a little weight, but not weighty feeling if you get what I mean by that lol.

Ms lanee, I noticed you were in need of a DT. if you still are I'm gonna tell you to try coconut oil, olive oil, honey, and some of your fav conditioner (maybe even more than 1 lol).

I do this and I always get really good results with mine.

I love my hair texture. I just want to be able to have total control of it. Can't wait to for it to grow ...

    CurlyNikki.. What's Cassia Treatments?
Also, if you want more volume why don't you lessen the amount of product you put in it?

cassia is neutral henna. curli. there's a henna thread probably not too far below this one in the 4a forum.

I'd love to have better curl definition (which I'm noticing is happening with more length, conditioning and trims). I also want a little bit of shine darnit! And I can't wait for my hair to get longer. If I could avoid those little knots on the end of my strands, that would be great too.

As for the gel discussion.....my hair only responds to heavy gels too. My hair laughed at AOMM and lighter creme based products. I used to get really good results with Miss Jessie's which is super heavy....but that darned mineral oil dried my hair out so I had to shelf it.

I'm okay with my definition; the cg routine has enchanced it/given me stronger texture. I want my hair to grow and I wish it were thicker. I also wish I could do some decent twists/twists extensions

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.

Like others. I just want it to grow. My hair is cut into a funky kind of shape so I am slave to puffs, ponytails and headbans. I want it to be even.

It has the same conditioning and strengthening effects as henna but w/out the color. It's a different plant altogether. I love Cassia! I'll probably try henna when I grow out some of this color.

And as far as trying less product- I don't use much now (a quarter size of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Blended-Beauty-Curly-Frizz-Pudding-p-376.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=blended-beauty-curly-frizz-pudding]Curly Frizz Pudding[/buylink] throughout, a dime size of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Blended-Beauty-Happy-Nappy-Styles-p-533.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=blended-beauty-happy-nappy-styles]Happy Nappy Styles[/buylink] per 4 sections of hair). If I used any less, my hair would be frizzy and less defined. I switched to creme based products to avoid the heavier gels (like fantasia ic) that weigh my hair down TOO much. My strands are super wimpy and I want to bulk them up some  I'm hoping the Cassia can aid in this.

Oh ok. I thought it was hair color. I tried Henna before & it broke my hair off so I know I won't be trying that again. But I think I will have to give Cassia a try.

Can I buy Cassia from a beauty supply store or do I only get it online?

I see what you mean about your hair. What about a definition cut? Like carving & slicing technique? I've seen on the Miss Jessies site how they've done it & the hair looks fuller. Maybe there's a stylist in your area that can do it before you totally devote yourself to the hair challenge. Just a thought...

Amen to that. I've actually 'worked from home' on bad hair days! It's a sad truth.
