What is your biggest "issue"?

sirenrisingsirenrising Posts: 92Registered Users
What is your biggest issue with your hair? Tangles? Frizz? Volume?
Spill the beans!
And if others have a solution to aforementioned problems, spill those too!

I'd say my biggest issue lately (even though I am LOVING MY HAIR this summer!) would be getting my hair to "lay" how I want it to, without messing with it too much while wet and causing it to frizz out everywhere. I've been recently literally not touching it while its wet, so I have these great ringlets, but they are in these awkward coils that aren't necessarily the most flattering.

Split ends/damage is my biggest issue. I have a lot (or I feel that I do) of damage from years of using SLS poos, hairspray & other BAD things & from getting highlights. I want to be able to look at my ends & not see even one split end. That wish is probably unrealistic. But it is my main goal to get my hair as healthy as it can possibly be. I don't want to cut off all the damage at once cause I really like my hair long.

i have two main ones that i can think of:

1 - front left section of my hair has a few curls that are much less curly than the rest, barely wavy.... always trying to make that part curl more. when it doesn't, i try to tuck it behind my ear, hiding it under other curlier hair

2 - frizz, though not TOO bad. mostly a little bit of canopy frizz that i've learned to accept, but i often get some separation frizz too that really bugs me. it's only really noticeable up close though, from a safe distance (like in the mirror) it pretty much looks fine.

I get some canopy frizz too! That's my chief complaint but I think I've gotten to a point where I accept it more than I used to. As long as my waves/curls stay pretty defined then I don't mind it so much (as long as it's not too much!) :)

Tangles are the big one, and frizz. Though I notice my frizz is better if I don't diffuse and if I don't plop for too long.

Dryness. It takes a lot of rich conditioner to keep my ends from drying out to the point where they split like crazy and break off. Frizz!-on 2nd day hair. My hair usually looks ok when its' washed & done & not too bad on 2nd day if wetted well. But otherwise just frizz! & if Ive worn my hair in a pony & take it out it looks straight but still frizzy, how is that possible?!
Although for the past 2 or 3 days I have put some Almond oil on the ends & I think this may be helping, hope it wont build up though.

Dealing with frizz because of intense humidity here in TX is my biggest problem. I lived in AZ before and it's dry there so my hair had almost no frizz then! So now if I am going to be outside most of the day I have learned to leave the crunch from my gel in my hair so that my hair doesn't turn into a puff ball.

Since some people voted on my picture post that I'm a 3a & others voted I'm a 3b, who knows where I should post, but what the heck, right?

So, what, we can only pick one issue we have with our hair?!

I need volume that lasts from roots down & I'm tired of the tangles & dryness!

Biggest issue is the kind of ratty, stringy, uncurly way the back bottom of my hair looks. It's not unhealthy or split but it looks like some horrid mutant layer under my curls.

When Francis (at Devachan) cut my hair the first time, he was surprised at how non conformist that part was. This last haircut with Anna, she and Lorraine disagreed strongly about cutting those stringers off completely.

Don't want to lose length or I would have it cut up to a thicker layer.
I have finally realized I look my best when my hair tells me how it is going to fall, and I just make suggestions.

That is actually exactly what mine does too! :x Yet I don't want to lose that length by cutting those strands shorter either. :? So who was all for cutting it off, Anna or Lorraine?

mine has to be getting the curls to last all day long.
i don't have much frizz lately, and my hair is super healthy. i just think i use too much leave in conditioner, but it's so i don't get the dry spot in the back...
so i guess it's either curls that don't last all day long, or the dry spot...
can't seem to find a hapy medium!

The back underneath layer of my hair is almost straight. What I do is give it a hefty dose of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Gelebration-Spray-p-101.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-gelebration-spray]Jessicurl Gelebration spray[/buylink]. It doesn't get as curly as the rest of my hair, but it does improve the curl enough that it doesn't look like a swatch of someone else's hair pinned in!

I would say my biggest problem is separation frizz, especially in the bottom third. I probably should just cut a few inches off, but I like it below shoulder length because it's curlier.

If we were allowed to post a second problem, I would say flat roots!

I love the color of your hair! Always wanted dark, shiny, curls.

My biggest issue is my hair does not last the day no matter what I do. I have tried leaving in the condish and rinsing it all out. If I don't leave some in, I have a ton of frizz. By the end of the day, every day, I have Big hair. And forget about ever having second day hair.

My biggest issue is separation frizz, especially in the front of my hair. The front few curls on each side of my face seem to kind of unravel during the day. Sometimes I can wet them and sort of coax them together, but that doesn't always work. I think it's because that layer is too short (chin length) to curl properly, so I'm working on growing them out.

I also have some weird straightness on my ends that I can't figure out. The last 1/2 inch of my hair sometimes turns out stick straight, which is really odd. I know it's not caused by damage, because it happens regardless of whether or not I've had a recent trim. I can usually fix it by re-wetting the ends and kind of scrunching them.

    lushaholic,

Lorraine could not believe Anna was going to leave the ends and told her so. I was into the Anna-let-the hair- do what-it -wants- program so I sided with Anna.

The only thing I really cared about was not blowing my chances in the Devachan contest by siding with Anna.
    We'll see.

    SuZen,

Never have tried the Gelabration. Next order.
RR will make those ends curl more, but they still look thin and ratty.

Canopy separation and frizz. The rest of my hair will look clumpy and shiny, but that one layer wants to be frizzy and not sit with the rest of the curls. It also feels drier than the rest of my hair. That's why I am thinking about switching to a sulfate free shampoo.

I hesitate to post because my "Biggest Issue" seems opposite of most others . . . . .

My curls clump too much! Left to it's own devices, my hair will curl into 6 mondo curls. It annoys me to no end! But I am beginnig to be thankful, it's not THAT hard to seperate my curls . . . . lose some definition, but that's all.

    I have 2 issues:

    1. I need volume on my crown! My hair is thin but more so on top. I could a little more hair, too  .

    2. How to fix my hair once it's dried. I have shorter layers on top that probably need to be blended with the rest of my hair. I have bangs which I usually blow dry straight as my face looks better with them. I'd love to eventually wear my hair like Susan (in the 2b forum).

Oh, did I mention volume?

My #1 issue has always been flatness at the crown in the back. I keep trimming up my layers so it will bounce up, but I lose curl when I do that. It takes 5 inches for my curls to complete themselves, and layers longer than 3 inches don't help the flatness. So I am going to grow it out to a blunt cut and if I develop pyramid head, I will cut a layer very close to the bottom. As for the crown flatness and the ugly part that forms there, I don't know what I will do. Diffusing helps that, but gives me frizz and non-definition. I guess I have to live with it.

My biggest issue is probably that I can't get 2nd day hair. I have to wet it every day or put it up in a pony tail. :?

My biggest issue is the same as PixieCurl's :

Two sections of my hair that are way less curly than the other parts and I am always trying to make them blend and curl more. Scrunching with a towel after using Awe spray has helped this problem.

My second issue is also canopy frizz; but, I think mine directly relates to years of damage (wrong products, straigtening, highlighting). Coconut Oil, honey and Jessicurl DT is helping this problem.

My biggest issues are separation frizz especially in the back and the underneath layers are much straighter then the rest of my hair.

My hair has issues. :| I don't mind the fact that it is insanely thick, or tends to frizz. My biggest fight with my hair is the stringy pieces that are completely straight. The pieces of hair at the nape of my neck usually curl, or at least wave, but those behind-the-ear pieces, I just can't do anything with them!

FidoGwen, I have the same problem. I counted my curls the other day, and there were five. Five curls! I am working on finding a happy medium between not combing or separating my curls at all, and taking a brush to my head. Lately, I use a wide-tooth comb in the shower, and then finger-rake gel/mouse/whatever I am using through my hair. So far, it isn't bad.
