Spin-Off: Sex during your period? (Could be adult....)

I never saw anything wrong with it and was surprised that people would not consider becoming intimate with their SO while they are menstruating. And by SO I am only referring to long-term partner/fiance/husband not a guy you casually date because that has health risks.
For those of you who said no, do you not do it because it is uncomfortable or does it just gross you out?

I totally agree with mrsreba. As long as my guy has no issues (which DH doesnt) then I don't. If I don't want to it's because of physical discomfort.
Plus I'm so damned klutzy during my period I'd probably hurt my poor husband somehow. (I elbowed him in the head once when we tried it "lights off" for a change. NEVER AGAIN!
Rock on with your bad self.

It's something we've done before and it's not particularly messy. But I usually can't get past the cramping. I know it's supposed to help ease cramps, but having cramps doesn't exactly put me in the mood.
Designated hitter.
Just kidding. Dear or darling husband/hubby.
Nothing 'wrong' with it morally, I think. However, its messy and whats the rush anyway? I believe the penis will still be in working order in six days.
For me it is not “rushing” but falls in line with what Amerasiancurls said:
I totally agree with her.
Besides, I have a *very* light 2-3 day period since day I started menstruating at 14 years old. I do not get cramps or discomfort and it does not get “messy.” Besides the obvious, the only time I know that I am on my period is that I get extremely aroused. I may be one of the lucky few in this respect.
Also, I read that it is good for your health to orgasm during menstruation (posted quote on other “period” thread). So, I also do it for my health.
Totally understand why others would not do it. At first, I thought it was because of religious/health reasons (which I understand), the messy aspect (understand), or people thought periods were gross/dirty/embarrassing (cannot comprehend because it is natural and there is a thing called a shower...but to each her own).
However, from some of the responses it looks like some of you have heavy flows that last for days. I can see why/how it could get messy/uncomfortable…..I consider myself lucky (and so does my SO
If a news story breaks and no one on the Internet comments, did it really happen?
I also am VERY sexually strung in the week before my period DURING my period in up to two weeks after. Still IMO, it can wait until we dont have to put three towels on the bed.
Wow, then you're "on" all month.
My body is highly sensitive two weeks before and the week during my period. And as noted before, I have a very light flow so messiness/staining is not an issue. We even do not have to use towels (and I have not stained anything either).
I am pretty lucky. I guess most of you have heavy flows and/or cramps and discomfort. I have never thought of that before as all of the women on both sides of my family have light flows and little to no discomfort/cramps. And of my friends, only two get cramps. Of those two, one is a virgin and one will not have sex again until marriage/finding the right person. So I know they are not having sex during their period.
same here, then and during ovulation.

Geeky is my hero. She's the true badass. The badass who doesn't even need to be a badass. There aren't enough O's in cool to describe her.
The BF has no problems with the period, but I use the Instead cups so I don't have to worry about towels, messy sheets, when, where, whatever. They just make things easier and more spontaneous.
Growing out severe color damage. My hair's not going gray - it's heading straight for white.
I would only do it on a light day, so the mess isn't really that big of a deal, but still it does change the game for me. I'm very visual and very tactile (I like to have my hands in the game too). Looking at and/or smearing blood on me/him just is not sexually stimulating. So I can't look and touch and get into like I usually would which make it less pleasing for me. Plus sometimes the waiting part makes it more exciting.
LOL.
Same here.
as we got older and had our own residences, we didn't feel as desperate to have to have sex during my period. so we sort of just stopped doing it on those heavy days.
my periods last for 7 days and i'm a heavy bleeder during 4 of those days. even today, we won't have sex during those very heavy days (even though we did when we were younger), but we will have sex during the lightest flow days (the first day and last 2 days).
several years ago, my husband actually said that "we aren't kids anymore. we don't have to do that. i can wait a few days."
not so off topic: does anyone else get really horny during her period, or am i the only one? the day after my cramps subside, i'm feeling rather friendly, but my flow is so heavy that i really don't want to deal with the [literal] bloodbath.
