How to keep eyeshadow from creasing?

southernbelle08southernbelle08 Posts: 199Registered Users
I don't know if its because I have extremely oily skin or what, but within two hours my eyeshadow creases HORRIBLY. I mean, there is a bold, visible line creased eyeshadow that stretches clear across my eyelid. How do I prevent this, and why is it happening? What am I doing wrong?

I have yet to find a hair twin ANYWHERE...website or real life :(

Current routine: Um, I don't feel like updating my siggie every thirty minutes. :) I'm experimenting right now! (loving the overnight plop!)

you're not doing anything wrong - i have oily eyelids myself and use eye shadow primer or paint-style shadows as a base.

my favourite bases are MAC Paint in Bare Canvas or Benefit Lemon Aid.

i LOVE lumene eyeshadow base. i get it for $10 at cvs...tthe best i've tried and it lasts a long time. it has no color so you can do what you wish with your shadows.

So, is eyeshadow base something that you put underneath your eyeshadow to keep it from creasing/smearing? How do you use it?

yes! you put the base on lightly (this one is sort of beige color). i let it "dry" while i do something else, i then dust my eyes with mac blot powder, my powder of choice. i then go to town on doing my shadow. i LOVE it. i used to use one by lancome but this is the best, easiest to spread and cheapest i've found. i hope they never stop making it. a tube lasts a long time. i have very oily lids and this keeps my shadow ALL day even through after work workouts my eyeshadow has barely faded!
