curly canopy, very flat underneath?

Does anyone else have this problem? my canopy is super curly, but the layer underneath is like very loose curls, almost waves. Any ideas on how to fix it? it's really starting to bug me! lol.

My hair is like that too. I just try to put a little extra product in the bottom and scrunch it really well. Diffusing it helps too.

Sorry - I dont know what else to tell ya!

You could try plopping, which can help to add more curl. I second scrunching in products, which can help create curl.

    HTH!

I plop, but it doesn't really seem to help a lot... maybe I need to re-position the towel a different way or something, but I do it the same way as the jessicurl video shows. I will try extra product, but I feel like that might weigh those curls down more? Diffusing turns my hair into an ugly mess most of the time so I don't do it as often.

What products are you using? Maybe that's the problem.

The jessicurl line: Gentle lather shampoo, [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Aloeba-Daily-Conditioner-p-104.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-aloeba-daily-conditioner]Aloeba[/buylink] condish, RR and CC to style.
It's given me the best results on my hair of any products I've used though.

I always have that issue. I have come to the conclusion that it has to do with how my hair brushes against my back as it dries. It disrupts my curl pattern. I try to put extra gel back there...but, those curls always flatten up by the end of the day.

I've heard that [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:Coil[/buylink] really increases curl formation and forms ringlets.
RR also has flax seeds, which increases curl formation, so maybe you should put a bit extra in the flat areas.

My hair's the same way. Ive started putting different products on the top layer and the rest. I dont know if thats ok, but it seems to make it a little more uniform. Like Ill put more curl activator and gel on the bottom, and I tend to put stuff that weighs down the curls on the top layer (like GF balm or JASON aloe conditioner),cause it tends to be frizzy up there too. my hair is fine so i try not to use that kind of stuff, but its usually ok to put that stuff just on the top.

My hair is the same way. The underlayer is a completely different texture from the rest of my hair. Aside from making sure it's cut a little shorter than the rest of my hair, so it doesn't poke out, I really don't do anything with it- no one sees it...

I think most of us have a mixture of textures on our heads. If all else fails, you could always get your stylist to cut the bottom layers shorter so that they don't stick out underneath the rest of your hair and look scraggly.
