what to tell my stylist for a haircut?!

I'm getting my haircut in a week or two, and I just need a trim, but I want it to be a good one. The woman I go to has always cut my hair wet in the past, the same way as she cuts my mom's hair, which is pretty much straight. :banghead: I don't want to seem like I'm telling her how to do her job, but what can I tell her to sort of... instruct her on how to cut my hair the right way? I have fine, med/long, 2C/3A, somewhat stringy (bleh) curls/waves. Any help would be WONDERFUL!!

Do you want her to cut your hair dry? If she's not trained on doing that, it might not be a good idea to ask her to do that.

I'm facing a similar dilemma. I have not seen my current stylist since I've started wearing my hair curly. When I see her, I'll probably explain I'm wearing my hair curly now and if can cut (trim) it in a way that best works with the curls -- and ask her for suggestions. And be very specific on what I want or don't want.
