I like Zia myself.

Chocolate Curls...I purchased the Dr. H Rejuvenating Mask...just haven't used it yet...will let you know when I do. I've heard many positive things about this mask.
My skin in combination. I have liked all the Zia products--I am unable to specify because I am not using them right now--I use Serious Skin Care presently.

I used Zia a long time ago as my first facial cream ever. I used the whole entire bottle which I have never done since with any other brand(actually I think it was a pot)
My mom takes her beauty products really seriously. She has been asked by leading dermatologists to be documented in medical journals on how awesome her skin is for 54. She actually has been asked to go on TLC for a show about skin aging and how her healthy lifestyle and good care has made her skin so great. It is really crazy!
So I guess I am telling you this because even though she recently starting using this, she is somewhat of a product snob, so I am sure it must be good.
Well, I think that a lot has to do with good genetics as well. She was a sun rat and she smoked for 30 years (oh the horrors!) She is 60% Polish, 25% Native American, and the rest Spanish.
She is in Brazil right now and I asked her what her skincare routine was. She said she didn't start putting anything on her face until she was 28. She first used Oil of Olay for a long time. Once she was in her late 30's, she really liked Estee Lauder products. Now, she recommends all Dr. Haushka products (skin and hair).
She is really diligent about her routine. Growing up, I always remembered her slathering cream on around her face. I know that she now uses Strivectin eye stuff with Dr. Hauska products.
She eats a really healthy diet as well. No sugar at all. She really is into organic foods and she drinks a daily glass of carrot and orange juice along with acai fruit. She drinks a lot of detox tea too.
If you want to know more about her diet or if you want me to ask her any real specific names of things, let me know.

Oh...did your mom experience any breakouts when first starting the Dr. H skincare...did her skin purge and then get better?

this is basically the acne cure program i just use ddf products to follow the program. hope that helps...if you decide to stick w/ ddf.

I think the pimples are definitely hormonal. Each time I go for a facial, the aesthetician comments on how my skin doesn't show any surface dirt, so I'm definitely keeping it clean. That's why I think the acne has more to do with maybe diet, because I eat a lot of chocolate. (Note my user name. Hee,hee.) Dr. Hauchka products claim to stimulate your skin in order to help it function better, so it's a different approach to skin care. I love the fact that it's so natural. But, the price!!! OMG!
regarding the hormones...i've been told that's my problem too...do you have a lot of acne around your jawline and chin? i do. i was told it was hormonal. the good thing about the acne cure program is that if helps w/ hormonal acne. i think the second d in ddf is dermatologic so i got confused. the products run about 25-28 a bottle which is like 8-10 oz i think.
i bought a book about hormones specifically for what it had to say about hormones and acne...if i read anything interesting i'll post here...best of luck!!

She honestly just picks up already made Trader Joes carrot juice in the little plastic bottles and puts some into her OJ. She does make her own OJ with this dinky juice maker. I think she got it for like $10. When she makes her drink, it is more yellow than orange.
She did not experience any breakouts, but she also does not have breakout skin type.

Oh...I did buy some POM Wonderful Pomegranate & Blueberry juice...it tastes great and its all natural. Its loaded with antioxidants which are great for skin.
Stacy...I also believe I have hormonal acne because I always breakout on my chin and jaw line every month...its awful.
However, I fnd that taking Evening Primrose Oil or Borage Oil seems to calm the flare-ups....you may want to look into this.
Just yesterday, I picked up some Zinc supplements. I've been reading about this and they say Zinc is excellent in helping to treat acne. Apparently, people with acne have been known to have low levels of zinc. So I'm going to give this a try for a few weeks....I'll let you know if there is any improvement.
i have used zinc and alpha lipoic acid but i'm trying to get to where i just use a good multi and not all the individual vitamins except for the ala which dr. perricone thinks is excellent for the inflammation related to acne.
