i'm confused by the ingredients in this tresemme condish...

Here are the ingredients for the Vitamin E condish:

Water (aqua), Quaternium 18, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Fruit Extract (Sweet Almond), Corylus Avellana Leaf Extract (Hazel), Helianthus Annuus Extract (Sunflower), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Extract, Foeniculum Vulgare Fruit Extract (Fennel), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Quaternium 80, Steareth 21, Dimethicone, Disodium Peg-12 Dimethicone Sulfosuccinate, Oleamine Oxide, Glycerin, Citric Acid, PVP, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance (parfum)

It sounds good, and I'm only kinda CG so the dimethicone is okay, but are some of those ingredients bad for hair? I'm really new to this and don't know much about these things... thanks!

I think that the dimethicone needs a sulphate shampoo to get it out since it can build up over time. The PEG dimethicone is water-soluable, though. I used the Tressemme CO for color treated hair as a CO wash when I first went CG, and my hair started looking greasy, probably from the dimethicone.

It doesn't need a sulfate shampoo, only a mild cleanser like coco betaine.
Sulfates shampoos are horrible and should only be used in emergencies!!!

You say you're only kind of CG. Can you elaborate on that? What's non CG about your routine? Do you use sulphates occasionally or...?

By kind of CG... I mean I use a conditioner that has dimethicone, and use a coco betaine shampoo maybe twice a month, or less, or something of the like! No sulfates though, or bad 'cones.

The cone seems to be pretty far down the ingredient list. Also, you do occasionally shampoo with bubbles. Considering those two things, I don't think you will have too many problems with any build up from it.

I agree with Brio. Also, the conditioner has protien in it, which is a no-no for some people on CG. Doesn't bother me though, and if it doesn't bother you, you're golden.
