I have heard that the products by carols daughter are good. Has anyone used it with success. And if so what products would you recommend for a 4A

Hi there....I tried Carol's Daughter Hair Milk. I didn't like it at all. The scent was horrible (a bit like medicine) and it didn't do anything for my hair. Seemed to make my scalp itchy. I'm not sure about any of the other products though.

thanks so much i will definately have to think twice. By the way your hair is great, i can't wait till i have your kind of length. Do you think i could do the coil outs with something other than miss jessies products?

I also tried the Black Vanilla Leave-In and didn't like that either (I prefer creamy leave ins). Since I didnt have luck with these....I decided that I didn't want to try any of her other products. But I have read some positive reviews of CD.

Thanks for the hair compliment! As for the coil out....I used Blended Beauty Styling Butter....but I think you can use just about anything: a gel like Fantasia IC, Curls products, Blended Beauty, ORS lock and twist gel, Aloe Vera Gel, Miss Jessies, etc. You just need something that will give you moisture, some hold and shine.

a lot of cd products have corn oil in them. i think they might make my scalp itch. i agree. the hair milk wasn't great and that leave in was funky to me after a while. i think that now there are a LOT of other good natural hair products on the market even though cd was amongst the first...if you can go to a sephora and try a small size of something you're interested in then go for it, otherwise i say listen to the girls here and try other brands. some suggestions i like are:

    - oyin handmade
    - myhoneychild
    - jessicurl
    - giovanni
    - curl junkie
    - curls
    - black earth
    - jane carter solutions
    - karen's body beautiful (thanks denisemounie)

lol I'm getting that same problem with the CD Hair Milk. I was wondering why my scalp has been itching like crazy the past fews days. I'm definately going to try that Karen's Body Beautiful instead.

I read that CD products used to better before they went mass market.
