Humidity at 93%; why do I bother?

Not much to post, just frustration. My hair soaked up the atmospheric moisture like a sponge, and it looked a bit like a sponge yesterday since I got rained on. Today I cowashed with John Masters Citrus Neroli Detangler, leave in is Beauty without Cruely and Batia and Aleeza gel. I'm hood drying; for some reason that always seems to help.

I feel your pain. I live in a very humid area also. Today's humidity high is projected to be 87%, yesterday was 90% and we've had much more extreme days.

I'm doing the bun thing this week, but so far, my AOMM has failed me....*crosses fingers*

What do you think of the B and A Gel? What do you usually use as a leave in under it?

    TIA!

Hope your hair holds up today SBB. I have a lot of humidity in North Carolina too. I don't know what I would do if I actually needed to look presentable every day for work. It would probably be a hot mess. Did Ouidad's Climate Control Gel ever work for you?

Only used it twice -- I like the B&A gel but it's quite thin so I never know whether I've applied enough and it's hard to feel if it's been distributed well. It also has a cone so I doubt I will repurchase. Before I left the house, my hair looked great. It's frizzy now but bearable. I'll try to post some comparison shots tonight. Today I used Beauty w/out Cruelty leave in beneath, and I've used Mixed Chicks beneath (didn't like the MC too much build-up and dryness within a week). Gel-wise Angell still works quite well, also AO MM but not in this humidity. I still have some CHE HDG and will try that next or else try the Ecostyler again or buy some cheap LA Looks.

I've never used it on totally natural hair, so it's hard to say. Texlaxed hair reacts differently. It worked okay on texlaxed hair with Stuctura II or Ouidad's Curl quencher gel.

Humidity is not my friend, either (80-90 degree temps with >90% humidity makes me feel like I'm living in a sauna). I recently had a lot of my relaxed ends cut off because the naturally curly parts would, of course, curl while my rexaxed ends would stay bone straight (even if I got caught in the rain). In short, it was a styling nightmare.
My hair definitely styles better now that I've had the haircut. I rolleset to form larger curls, which I'm able to wrap nightly after applying a little moisturizer and wear for 3-4 days. But recenly I've been getting a lot of frizz. I've tried many different leave-ins, but nothing is helping. Today, I picked up some Smooth Infusion shampoo and conditioner from Aveda, and will try it the next time I wash. We'll see how this goes...

Well here in Alabama...the only thing that helps me is to spray some StaSoFro in my hand (small amount) and distribute over my leave-in....my hair has done really well over the past week and a half. But I am still in the small fro stage and I judge "doing well" by the shine, definition and elasticity of my curls during the day.

Your hair looks great. If I could stand the smell of StaSofFro I would try it.

ETA I posted pictures in my Fotki under Batia & Aleeza
