Getting my hair out of my face

noelaninoelani Posts: 665Registered Users
I as probably a lot of yall as well have a lot a lot of hair. Because of this leaving all my hair out is a problem because it ends up in my face. So I end up having to put that part that ends up in my face in a poinytail. So my question is is there anything I can do to get my hair out of my face without having to put that secton into a ponytail? I would love to leave all my hair out more often. I do leave it all out ocassionally but I just end up fussing with it all day and hear my mom tell me how she hates it in my face and wants to see my eyes.

Same problem. I end up loosely pinning it back with bobby pins. I plan to address this with my hairstylist though. I need a style that's not in my face.

I have that too. I put clips or bobby pins a few inches from the roots at that section just to shove the curls back a few inches.

I'm going through the same thing, especially now since I'm trying to grow my bangs out. I've also been using bobby pins to loosely pin my hair back. At least with having a lot of hair, it's easy to hide the pins.

You could also experiment with little claw clips - 1/2 inch or smaller. I usually pull up some front sections to the top and sides of my head. It keeps the hair out of my face and IMO looks better than letting my hair hang freely.

I bobby pin mine 2. The locks on either side of my part just insist on falling right smack in the middle of my face.

Guess, I will try small claw clips. I seem to have problems with bobby pins, maybe my hair is to thick or I have to much because they seem to always get messed up when I try to put them in and then I have to throw them out.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

One of my favorite ways to fix my hair is using 2 small claw clips. I pull up a section over my ear (as big or small as I like for that day), twist it back loosely and clip it there (as close or far from the front as I like for that day), then do the same to the other side. That way, hair is out of my face and still have my wild curls everywhere! Here's a pic of my hair today:

The other side is just like that. Pulling it back and twisting loosely gives me some wave up top so it doesn't look plastered down or pulled tightly back. Sorry for the blur.
    I'm a 3b, with 3c underneath.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!

I like it! Very cute!! I might attempt this but my hair isn't as curly underneath so I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull it off. :?

During my 1st cut at Devashon, Jackie showed me a little trick to getting hair out of my face w/o loosing body or curls (an absolute necessity to my peace of mind).

Grab the hair behind your ears at the lowest point (right behind the ears). Bring around bulk of hair in back, tie once, then clip with claw clip. It doesn't diminish the top of your hair, but, if its long enough, it will keep it pulled back.

I do the same as curlyjenn. I try to keep it loose too so it does not look slicked back as that is not the look I am going for. Sometimes I will do 3 small jaw clips across the top too but I keep them nearer the front and I dont pull it back then either - I keep it looser.

Or you can tie it twice and not even bother w/ the claw clip. That's how i'm wearing mine today.

I use barrettes or (more frequently) teeny tiny claw clips that I use to pull back just the couple of front curls that fall in my eye. Best part is I can take those out and not have a ridge like a barrette or ponytail holder. :)

I am totally stuggling with curly hair everywhere too! As a personal trainer I cannot have hair every which way. I am trying not to tie it back too tight, because I know that can damage the hair. Right now, headbands are my savior!
