So how do I know...

What is causing my hair to feel so dry and brittle on 2nd day hair?

I have been using [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Aloeba-Daily-Conditioner-p-104.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-aloeba-daily-conditioner]Aloeba Conditioner[/buylink] by Jessicurl for the last few months. I tried this after reading about how proteins in conditioners can be drying...well, my hair feels dry still and [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Aloeba-Daily-Conditioner-p-104.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-aloeba-daily-conditioner]Aloeba[/buylink] doesn't work well for me as I am trying to comb through my hair. The tangles are horrible!!!

How can I tell if my hair is dry due to protein or because of the lack thereof?
I try to not do damaging things to my hair such as using a hair dryer, I never straighten it or anything like that, but still I get breakage/split ends. I think I get more breakage now being cg than I did before. I am so discouraged!
