Curls Rock Amplifier

This product seems to be creeping into more and more posts lately. My curiousity is up! But I am pretty sure it isn't CG. What other products do you use with it? How often do you have to poo? And what kind of poo? Please be as specific as you can. Thanks in advance!

I used this not extremely long ago. It is ok. I have to say I like the results of CG gels and other products better on my long hair. It does a lot for a co-worker of mine who has short thin hair. It really makes it appear thicker and defines her curls a bit more.

I'm a big Curls Rock Amp lover. It does have some cones, but I only shampoo once a week or so. I usually use CK before it when it's really humid, and that helps distribute the creamy texture. I mostly rake it in and slightly scrunch. I sometimes twirl it in. I'm not big on doing stuff upside down because that causes more frizz for me.

It is also important to use a lighter sulfate shampoo every now and then with it. I love Biolage Ultra Hydrating Conditioner (I also use the shampoo when I need sulfates). I also love Nature's Gate Lav and Aloe Conditioner. I don't believe in plopping because that causes more frizz for me too, but I do use a Curl Ease towel. I mostly air dry unless I'm in a hurry and then I diffuse a little. I can't compare it to any other products because it's the best for the summer for me. I use PM Sculpting Foam and Graham Webb Making Waves gel in the winter. My hair likes cones. :D

ETA: I have shoulder length really thick hair that is mostly 3a. Every stylist I go to seems to be shocked and somewhat annoyed because I have so much hair. CR Amp totally knocks out a ton of volume for me.
And you know, I'm really not totally sold on the sandwich idea. They're kind of traditional, I know I said that, don't question me about that, but they aren't really all that chic, you know? --fig jam

Before Cg I used this, and loved it so much, very curl enhancing!! I would love to try it again. Let us know if it works well for you.

I really wanna try this and almost ordered some from SalonSavings but I resisted, hoping I can find some to swap for.

Do you think my Giovanni 50/50 or Jessicurl GLS would be enough with this?

I love the curls rock creme--BUT-- I find that if I dont put it on evenly I will have white streaks of build up in places!! I'm in SC where it is very humid so it works great for me.. I was trying to find something to mix it with though..I love the definition it gives me, but someone told me that if you mix it with bumble and bumble styling cream it evens it out more...I have not tried it yet!!

I have been using the Curls Amp for some time now , got it off the swap from 2 nice curlies and been loving it, been my HG of curl creams in my rotation , i use it in soaking wet hair , scrunch in about mabye a lil bit of a dime size or so all over, then i pair it with a gel and scrunch that in over it, right now im using the discontinued suave pro gel ( this gel makes my hair so curly and clump so good every time i use it compared to other gels ). i poo once or so during the week. So far the curls amp hasnt stopped working.

Well, now I guess I'm going to have to pull this out from the depths of my closet and try it again. My hair usually doesn't like creams of any kind, but since it's gotten so much longer, it seems to tolerate a lot more stuff than it used to.

You guys who are loving it and using gel with it -- are you putting in soaking wet hair?

Ooooh! I just got $10.50 in ExtraCare-whatever-money for CVS so I'm gonna hafta pick this up since that'll knock the price down. Of course the CVS down the street only has Beadhead shampoos, conditioners, and After Party so I'll have to wait until I'm near another one. I'm excited though. :)

How much hold does this have one its own? Does the smell linger on your hair once dry?

It has enough hold for me to use either alone or over CK in the summer. Although I use more than recommended (I've found I have to do that with most products). I usually use 3 or 4 of those small pumps, but I also have a lot of hair. Everyone is different though.

So, I pulled this out of storage and tried it again based on the recent buzz here :P . VERY humid here in Philly today, and it didnt hold up. AND this was after a ouidad deep treatment last nite, with some used as a leave-in. Maybe it works better with gel layered over it.
