Blusher

How do you apply cream blusher? In fact, how do you apply any kind of blusher? Which gives the most natural results? Do you have to wear foundation or is powder alone OK?
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.

i wear just powder blush. to figure out where to apply, i hang my head upside for a few seconds and wherever my face naturally flushes is where i sweep on some blush. been doing it long enough that i no longer need to hang upside down though hehe :D

I'm amused that I knew you were in the UK because you called it blusher! (In the US, we just call it blush.)

I have NEVER had luck with cream blusher. As I rub it in, my cheeks get red, then I can't tell how I've applied it! Usually once the red from rubbing my cheeks goes away, one cheek is pink and the other's pale. (No, I don't rub hard-my cheeks just get red easily!)

I use powder-and tend to use a dark brown and a red/pink. If I'm pale (like I am right now) I use very little, but if I have a tan I have to use quite a bit more for it to show up at all. I suck in on my cheeks (think fish face) and put the darker color in the indentation, then put the pink/red color on the "apples" of my cheeks and above the brown. It could look very comical and clown-like if I used a lot, so I make sure I don't use much! It's always easy to add more, but a pain to wash it off and start over.

I have no clue if I am doing it right but I just apply it on my cheekbones.

If you can afford it - it is either $22 or $26 USD - I would recommend NARS powder blush. Orgasm works on fair to light olive skin. It looks natural on me (I have similar coloring to Natalie Portman or Keira Knightly) yet I hear Julia Styles also uses it and she is very fair skinned.

They have colors for every skintone. I saw a list in In Style that split it up by skintone and NARS color. I think the one for olive to medium dark skin was called Sin. I had to try both because I wasn't sure if I was light olive or olive.

ETA: about cream blusher... I don't have the same problem Net has. I have another problem. It will not last. I have combination skin (my cheekbones are not THAT oily!) and it just disappears after a very short time. Cream blusher may be designed for people with VERY dry skin.
Do you know why they call it "PMS"? Because "Mad Cow Disease" was taken.

I had my eye on this blush today but I felt guilty spending that much on myself this time of the year. Maybe I'll splurge on it after the New Year. :dance:dance.gif How are their eyeshadows? I was thinking about maybe buying the color called Fathom. Any thoughts?

MAC's Sheertone Plus blush in "Peachy Keen" is almost identical to NARS "Orgasm".

i've been wearing "Orgasm" for the past 4 years... when this one runs out, i'm buying the MAC. half the price and more in the jar!
