I agree! The last one we had, I believe, was last May. It would be nice to have another one.

I'm in if we can get enough people to commit.

Maybe we can do something this September or October. The last few we've had, we met at Cosi, and a place off of the Yellow line(I think it was a Japanese-type restaurant, though I can't remember the name).

Wherever and whenever we decide to meet, it should be metro-accesible and not too expensive.

I think early October? Well thats my vote. And I do agree on the metro accesible as well as not too expensive. But can we bring it out of DC for us B-more and middle/northen MD ladies. what about in Greenebelt? or Silver Spring ( I think the metro goes there). Anywhoo thats my two cents.

I think October would be great or maybe late september. I would prefer DC or Baltimore because I don't know anything about Greenbelt, and these curly gatherings are new to me.

    Hello Ladies!

It sounds like late September or early October is the preferred meet-up time frame. With that in mind I thought I'd throw out some possible meeting locales.

From past posts I read that the last meet up was in DC. I think DC is a great location (I may be bit biased) but MD and VA have good sites as well so here goes:

    1. Down town DC (Connecticut Ave)

    California Pizza Kitchen or Bertucci's

Both restuarants serve great food and are affordable priced. Salads start @ $7.00. Also metro accessible (RED LINE faragut north or Dupont Circle) with shopping (Filelene's Basement) nearby.

    http://www.cpk.com/menu/

    http://www.bertuccis.com/Main_FaxableMenu.pdf

    2. Uptown DC

    Cheesecake Factory, Maggianno's, Boey Monger

Great shopping: Loehmanns, Filene's Basement, Border's Books,TJ Maxx, Lord & Taylor, PR Partners (hair products) Nieman Marcus, Saks to name a few. This location offers something for everyone. Also, don't let the bigger name restuarants deter you. I believe you can dine any where on "YOUR" budget. (I'm knwn fr getting around the city on $1.15):laughing9: It's all about what your order and how you order it. This will be a (I believe) lunch meeting so lunch is always cheaper. Also, to be honest IMO the Cosi's and Corner Bakeries are NOT that cheap. I tend to spend close to 10 bucks on average when I get lunch from these establishments during the work week.

    http://www.cheesecakefactory.com/menu.htm

    http://www.maggianos.com/foodbeverage/menu.asp?menu=Lunch

I don't have a link for Boey Monger but it's a local sandwhich shop.

    3. Largo, MD

The Boulevard at the Capital Centre

    http://www.answers.com/topic/the-boulevard-at-the-capital-centre

This location has plenty of good affordable restuarants and shopping and is Metro accessible. You take the Blue line to Largo Town Center and get off at the last stop. A few of the popular places are: Gladys and Ron's Chicken and Waffles, Carolina Kitchen, Stone Fish Grill (my fave) and KOBE Steak house. There is also a Cold Stone Creamery and a DSW.

    4. Arlington, VA

    Pentagon City/Pentagon Row

Same deal Metro acess (Yellow & Blue lines) great restuarants to fit anyone's budget and shopping. Nordstrom, Macys in the mall. Pentagon Row has some really nice side walk cafe type places. Thiaphoon, & LeBanese Taverna are to popular restuarants. There is 2 Aveda locations: A Salon outside (Pentagon Row) Aveda store inside mall. Also, Trade Secret, Body shop, MAC store etc.

    http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?ID=157

    http://www.pentagonrow.com/

Now of course this list is not exhaustive of locales. Please feel free to add your location idea. I'm just ready to meet you ladies and have some fun so I thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Let me know what you think and then we can get our meeting date set and plan our fun day!!!

    Sun

NOTE:.. I just read mslanee1's post mentioned Silver Spring, MD that also, another great location. It is metro access (Red line get off SilverSpring) That area has been revitilized. New movie theater, huge Border's books, and an ULTA location! :bounce: Also, Macaroni Grill and Red Lobster are two the bigger name restuarants.

I think Downtown DC sounds like a good choice. Bertuccis or California Pizza Kitchen is very affordable. Filenes Basement is a great store..(side note: right now they are having a extra 75% off sale :) Do you all think it should be on the weekend or weekday?

Seems like the most votes are for DC. So I guesss thats where it will be (even though i HATE driving and parking in DC) I will come down to see you ladies!

It does not matter to me where we eat at, as long as the have vegitarian options (which everyone does now days).

The place should be metro accesible, so the majority don't have to drive or worry about parking and whatnot. It should probably be on a weekend too. Preferrably Saturday, since metro runs on a slower schedule on Sundays.

Should we meet next month? Let's pick a date, and ideas for where we can meet. I'll look into some places and will post some suggestions soon.

ETA: Just noticed Sunshine's suggestions. D'oh. I'll post some additions to what was already posted.

October sounds good to me. Also, I think weekends would proably be best for most folks. What about choosing a Saturday in October?

Not sure if a date was chosen, but considering the 6th is tomorrow, can it be safe to assume we're going with the 20th.

If so, I'll be there. Wherever we decide to me. We just need some consensus.

Looks like this Saturday won't be good for most of us, so let's try for November.

If anyone has any suggestions for dates, by all means post them.
