Frustrated by Indian hair.

Hi girls, I have type 2c - 3a ( I think ) Indian hair.
My routine currently is:
Saturday: Shampoo hair (ION anti dandruff shampoo), then I detangle and braid.
Sunday: I oil my hair. (coconut oil) And braid again.
Monday: Condition hair (Garnier Fructis for frizzy, dry, unmanageable hair) then I apply ION styling mousse and hair spray and leave it in for the rest of the week. Until saturday comes around again. Oh and I don't brush my hair out.

I'm looking for a new better routine to reduce frizz (!!!!) and just get a better look.

this is me now. (i straighten my bangs. )

Please help! I'd really like input from another Indian because of the similarities in hair, but I'd welcome any advice. Thanks so much!

Well I'm not Indian, but my Indian friend says I practically am, partially because I love to do henna :D

During the week, you could try washing with conditioner, because it doesn't dry out your hair like shampoo, and it will still clean it and moisturize.

You could even try shampooing less than you usually do, a lot of people on this site don't use any shampoos with sodium laurel sulfate because it is drying and can make your hair frizzier.

The Garnier Fructis conditioners have silicones in them, which a lot of people here also avoid, cause they can build up and make your hair less curly and frizzy. So you could try some other conditioners that are really moisturizing, but don't have the 'cones. There are some helpful posts about the CG (curly girl) method that could help you out with that.

Hope that helps! By the way, I like your curls :)
    2c/3a I believe... trying to find a good routine : )

I'm Indian, and I have hair just about as curly as yours. Here is what I do right now:

Shampoo every 2-3 days with Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine
Condition with Curl and Shine Conditioner

When my hair is still soaking wet I use a palm full of [buylink=]DevaCurl Angel[/buylink]l or [buylink=]Curl Keeper[/buylink] for frizz. I comb this through. I might add some [buylink=]AG Re:Coil[/buylink], which is a curl activator. Sometimes I leave that out.

I finish with a mixture of Graham Webb Makin' Waves Gel and Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee. BRHG is really strong so I find mixing it with Graham Webb is a perfect dilution. I use more BRHG if I really want tiny defined curls but they will be crunchy.

I'm not sure I have found the right combination yet but these products might be a good place to start. I comb them all through while dripping wet, squeeze out the moisture on a towel and use a bowl diffuser to dry my hair upside down..the diffuser is the most important part, otherwise I get bad frizz. I hold the bowl directly against my head to prevent the hair from moving while drying.

    Hope this helps.

Have you tried any of the Ojon products in CurlMart... they are made by Indians!

    BTW, Your hair is GORGEOUS!!!
4a/4b... at this point, Henna has to be my friend, cause I've tried EVERYTHING else!!

Henna, Afro Detangler, KBB hair cream, Vitamin E oil, Qhemet AOHC, AND no more letting my hair dry curly... darn knots are driving me crazy!!:happy7:
