I just so fell in love with this series, I've only read the first book, but I had to share.

I love this series too!!!! I have the first three in paperpack and I'm waiting for the fourth to come out on paperpack too. Did you read the fourth??? Don't spoil anything, but was it up to par with the first three??

I liked it too! Do any of you read Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series? Shes the best. If you're into vampires. The first book was so-so, but from then on to the 14th I'm lovin' it!

Hers are often set in St. Louis, no? I've read a couple of hers.

Had to bump since Trueblood just started coming on. I have not read the books yet, but how do you all feel about the show if you've seen it yet?

This is what I wrote about the first episode on the thread about the show:

I watched it and really liked it a lot. That said, as a long-time fan of the original book series, I'm a bit conflicted. I've spent years getting to know these characters and their stories, and the show (and the actors) didn't seem to do them justice, for me. I especially didn't like the gratuitous *sexing up* of the show; there's a certain "sweet" (for lack of a better word) quality to Charlaine Harris's writing in these books, that I missed. If I can find a way to think of the show as an entirely separate entity in my mind, then I'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Now that I've also seen the 2nd ep, I definitely feel the above sentiment even more strongly. I like the show a lot, but it's whole different animal for me than the books.
Hair type: Completely confused: mostly 3a, some 3b parts, and even 2 in places; very fine and thin.
Products: Elucence clarifying & MBC; CK, F/X Curl Booster Fixative Gel (when I can find it)

Thanks! That seems to be the sentiment that I'm getting from a lot of people, especially the overdone sex. I used to live in the part of Louisiana where this takes place and I found it a little hard to watch because the accents were so bad and over the top. By the second episode it had stated to grow on me though. It may be due to the fact that my best friend in high school though he was a vampire, and we would travel to New Orleans all the time since that's where so many of the vampire novels take place. I guess in an odd way this series is a little nostalgic for me then!:laughing7:
