Conair Curl Fusion Ionic Dryer: Anyone Tried?

ZinniaZinnia Posts: 7,339Registered Users
Has anyone tried the curl fusion ionic dryer that is in the ad to the right?

I am thinking about buying one, but wanted some feedback.

Thanks!

I have nto tried it but the fact it does not have a bowl type diffuser concerns me. I like being able to 'plop' my hair in my diffuser and let it sit in there while I am diffusing. Another company had one similar to this but without the fingers and it didnt work well at all for me. Just blew my hair around even though it was not supposed to.

I got mine from ULTA. It is a Conair dryer, so I am sure that all of the major dept. stores will have it..ie Walmart, Target etc...

I picked one up at Walgreen's yesterday. I believe it was $24.99.

I like it :) On high, the air flow is a little strong for my fine hair, but on the low setting, it is perfect. It handles much better than my normal hair w/ a diffuser - it's less bulky.

I saw this at my local Walgreens, too. I'm not sure if this will do anything more than a traditional diffuser, but the shape might be easier to work with rather than a big ole diffuser stuck on the end of a dryer.

    bump....

i bought this dryer today at the store for $24.99 sort of on impulse. :drunken:

and i am glad that i did. i used it on the high setting. i currently have short hair. the high setting only slightly blew the longer pieces, but did not cause any frizz anywhere on my head.

i only dried enough to remove the dripping.

    i give it a  or :) :) :).

    Edited for clarity.

I bought this dryer about 3 weeks ago when my other one started to die. I was worried since I hadn't seen any posts about it but I LOVE IT! I use the lower setting which is very warm but not hot and I love the "volume" attachment which I just leave on. Kinda like the bowl diffusers without the bowl.

I bought mine at Fred Meyer, kinda like a grocery store mixed with a Target but I think they are local to the West Coast.

I just bought this last week. I love it. I'm really used to the bowl type diffuser, so this took a little bit of adjusting, but I like it so much better. I leave the volume attachment on too. I use the high setting and get no frizz.

Windflower, I am SOOOOOO glad you bumped this thread. After reading it I happened to be in Walgreens, and bought this dryer since this thread had caught my attention.

WOW! I absolutely *LOVE* it!!!! There is no such thing as 2nd day hair in my world, and I just do not have time to air dry most mornings. This dryer totally and completely outperforms my other (much more expensive!) dryer and diffuser system.

I am beyond thrilled with this purchase!!

i am very happy with it too. for no more dripping hair.

I LOVE this dryer! I saw it at WalGreens a few weeks ago and picked it up. I figured for only $25, it was worth taking a chance on. I haven't owned a blowdryer in years because even with a diffuser, it seemed like my hair always turned into a giant ball of fluff.

This thing dries my hair pretty quickly, doesn't ruin my curls and doesn't make my hair any more frizzy than air drying does. Now I don't have to walk around with a wet head for hours and worry about how my hair will end up looking by the time it dries completely.

I got this dryer a few weeks ago at Ulta, to replace a Vidall Sasson that I have had for years. In the winter I don't like going out with wet hair so I like to dry even if just a little bit, took me a few tries but I really like this one, the attachment I can put right on my hair and it dries the underneath layers of curls. My hair has been looking great!

I never thought I'd have the chance to say....I love this diffuser! My hair is very curly, what you would call 3C/4A. I was able to use the finger attachment to dry the roots and stretch them as well. I used it on high heat (my hair is thick and coarse). My hair dried mostly in about 20 mins and it dried with a nice shine. I'm finally a successful diffuser.

After realizing that diffusing really brought out my waves, I've been using my old Conair ionshine /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.conair.com%2Fshine-conair-ionic-speed-styler-p-454.html" class="Popup with the diffuser attachment and getting pretty good results using the pixiecurl method. I went out to buy the CurlFusion because it seems much lighter and less awkward.

But can the CurlFusion be used pixiecurl method? The slots before the fan seem pretty big and I'm afraid of strands getting caught.

ETA: I used it this morning and WOW! I'm loving it! It dried my hair super fast and I was able to use it pixiecurl style. This is one of the best $25 I've spent.

i've been using the pixiecurl method since i got this dryer, and have never had any problems with hair getting caught in anything, which ALWAYS used to happen with my old one (really painful and yucky smelling...yikes!!)

After looking at this for a while, I finally ordered it from amazon. I got it today and WOW! My hair looks great, and it dried quickly with very little frizz.

I've had bad luck with diffusers before, so I've always air dried my hair (which took around 6-7 hours to fully dry). Now I can finally shower in the morning without waking up at 4am or going into school with dripping hair. :toothy7: I can't believe I got such good results for less than $25. I also noticed that when I blow dry, my hair curls up a lot more and looks a lot more defined since it doesn't have to deal with the environment while it's drying. My mom told me I looked just as good as I did when I left Devachan :blob7:

after all these great reviews....I bought mine yesterday and can't wait to try it out today! I always used the hot sock before, but I am hoping that I can try this pixiecurl business with the fusion and see what all the fuss is about!!

NOt sure if this applies to all Rite Aid's but mine is having 20% off on all Conair dryers this week. I'm tempted to pick it up if they have it. :toothy7:

Awe man...why am I the only one this didn't work for!!

I bought this back around Thanksgiving (after going to 4 stores to find it) and I tried it for three days and hated it. :( I currently use a diffuser with fingers and it works much better for me. The Conair left my hair flat, frizzy and I had less curl.

Thank goodness Walmart has such a good return policy. I'm really glad this worked for you guys though! It's a great feeling to find something that works. :D
