Since people know I am an avid reader, several people asked me for booklists before I left my last job, so I figured... maybe someone here would also like some new ideas!

Fantasy/Teen Fiction/Light Reading:
-Harry Potter Series - JK Rowling
-Eragon - Christopher Paolini
-Sabriel - Garth Nix (Abhorsen Trilogy book 1)
-Lirael - Garth Nix (book 2)
-Abhorsen - Garth Nix (book 3)
-Shade's Children - Garth Nix
-The Forgotten Beasts of Eld - Patricia A. McKillip

Chick Books (you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be glad you're a woman)
-Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - Rebecca Wells
-Little Altars Everywhere - Rebecca Wells
-Passion of Artemesia - Susan Vreeland

-books by Nevada Barr, like Blind Descent, Track of the Cat
-By Evil Means - Sandra West Prowell
-The Killing of Monday Brown - Sandra West Prowell
-When Wallflowers Die - Sandra West Prowell

Other (just good books!)
-Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett
-Bless Me, Ultima - Rudolfo Anaya
-The Eyes of the Dragon - Stephen King (don't be fooled by the author, this is by no means "horror," it is a story set in a fictional kingdom, with an aging king, a prince framed for murder, a devious magician, and the younger prince who's used like a pawn in mischievious games - NOT scary, but more like a bedtime story, with rescues and revenge and a little magic. Excellent)
-books by Tom Robbins, like Jitterbug Perfume, Another Roadside Attraction, Skinny Legs & All, Still Life with Woodpecker (Just to name a few - these books are... strange. Good, and intriguing, but I always wondered if Mr. Robbins did some serious drugs in his younger days. I can't really describe them... you'll just have to read one to find out. I don't recommend reading them all one after the other, because you might go crazy! They are good, though. =))
