losing curl defintion when dry

My hair is about a 3c/4a (with some 3b) when wet, and a defintion-less blob of shruken 4a/3c when it dries. It dries pretty fast. I've been told that I need moisture, but is there anything I can do? What products can I use to maintain the texture/curl pattern of my wet hair even after it dries? Thank you. Specific products would be great also.

If you're looking for more "clumping" of your curls I would recommend Back to Basics peach pomegranete conditioner. A lot of curlies on here, including myself find that it helps curls to clump together and be more defined. I think it's the peach extract in it. Also I find it to be very moisturizing if that's what you need. So much that I've had to stop using it in the summer because my hair was too soft and frizzing up.

Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Gingko and Ginseng Moisturizing Hiar Jelly! It's a light hair gel that is also moisturizing and it will lock in those curls if you apply it before your hair dries. I usually apply it on damp hair and it works wonderfully.

You can get it at Wild Oats, The Vitamin Shoppe or they may have it at Whole Foods too.
    Currently using:

    Poo: CON Sulfate Free poo
    Rinse out: Tresemme Naturals
    Leave-in: CJAOO Daily Cond
Styler: KCCC sparingly and Ampro Olive Oil Gel where needed
DT: KBB Lucious Locks Mask + EVOO/Avocado

Whatever product you use, rake it through your hair in sections if needed to make sure it's well distributed; raking also helps clumping. I also love AO Mandarin Magic, but I do use a leave-in underneath it -- either Curls/CurlyQ [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/CURLS-Curls-Milkshake-p-884.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curls-Curls-Milkshake]Milkshake[/buylink] (less volume) or Aveda Elixir (more volume) or Jane Carter [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jane-Carter-Solution-Condition-and-Sculpt-p-159.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=the-jane-carter-solution-condition-sculpt]Condition & Sculpt[/buylink] (serious hold). I also sometimes rub a little castor oil on my wet clean ends before the leave-in & gel; helps with moisture retention. My texture got more defined the longer I condition washed.

Surburban, I finally realize you told me the Elixir has been discontinued. I guess I got a little excited! So here it goes again... I'm going to try the AO Jelly, [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/CURLS-Curls-Milkshake-p-884.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curls-Curls-Milkshake]Curls Milkshake[/buylink], and the B2B pomegranate.

Is the B2B pomegranate used as a leave in or is it rinsed out? I've read that some get more clumping with this conditioner.

You also need to keep in mind that no one's [normal] hair really looks as it does wet. While proper moisture will garner better results, your natural hair still may not have the texture/defintion that you seek. Not without using products that even still may not give the exact look. At the end of the day, your hair is going to do what it wants to do. :)

But I can say that with improved health and maintenance, came more definition and texture for me. It's all about the overall health of the hair.

A wonderful mix of coils, curls, corkscrews, and kinks.
