my hair is never crunchy!!

no matter how much gel or any product i use, my hair never dries crunchy. ever. i sleep on wet hair, so having it dry crunchy would help with it staying frizz free and more defined. can anyone give me tips so it'll dry crunchy?

    Glue?

I really don't know, sorry. Mine gets crunchy at the slightest hint of gel.

BWC Rosemary Mint Tea Tree Conditioner,
    Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner,
    ***Aloe Vera Gel***
Simplicity is best, at least for my hair. I co-wash every two days or so with the BWC and use the AOHR as a rinse-out when I need moisture. On other days, I just water wash, and I use AV gel every day to style. I air-dry and don't brush or comb my hair.

Hahah... my hair never gets crunchy too. The old formula BRHG was the only thing that could make it slightly crunchy, but it got reformulated. To get good second day hair I usually spray my hair with hairspray pretty thoroughly right before I go to bed and by morning all my tossing and turning has worked it all out. I use Aussie Sprunch Spray. HTH!

hmmm...that's not a bad idea!! my mom had about 3443234 different hairsprays she doesn't use; think i'll just steal one of hers :)

do you find it drying at all, since it had alchohol denat. in it? you have fine and thin hair, as your signature says, whilst i have very thick hair.

Abba Weightless Gel dries quite crunchy. So does the new L'Oreal Studio Line Weather or Not gel. That one has a VERY high crunch factor. I got results almost identical to my beloved old formula BRHG. I found it a little drying though.
Hair type: Completely confused: mostly 3a, some 3b parts, and even 2 in places; very fine and thin.

Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee, the old formula, gives me crunch but it is easily scrunched out after my hair dries because I don't like the crunch. Aussie Sprunch Spray will also give a crunch. I have just tried it once (my mom had some when I went to visit her this weekend), but the Garnier Fructis hard curl gel is supposed to give crunch, too.

Are you using a leave-in under the gel? I get no crunch when using a leave-in.
    I'm a 3b, with 3c underneath.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!

no, not for the spring/summer, as i get easily over conditioned. i try to rinse out all of my conditioner, as well. i tried lauraloo's suggestion, and had nice, solid, defined curls today, but it felt a little on the dry side.

Yes, it does tend to dry me out from time to time, depending on the weather and how much I use. I've found that smoothing over [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Confident-Coils-Styling-Solution-p-116.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-confident-coils-styling-solution]CCSS[/buylink] the next day helps to keep the dryness at bay. I just make sure to condition really well when I wash. That's the best thing I've come up with to get a little bit of crunch before I go to bed. HTH!

How about trying biolage gelee, it always give me lots of crunch which i of course scrunch out. Maybe its because you are sleeping on wet hair. I say this because like I mentioned i use the biolage gelee and it always gives me lots of crunch (unless I apply jessi curl cc under it) but one time I went to sleep on wet hair and woke up with soft hair and it was still a bit damp.

Maybe you should let it air dry a little before going to bed?

I find gel spray very crunchy. One I have used is L'Oreal gel spray but that was before CG so I don't know if the ingredients are safe. John Frieda also do one with a PEG -cone in. That always leaves my hair crispy like a piece of fusilli pasta!
