It's Bon Jovi night!!!! :D Woo hoo!!! (I am a little disappointed that Richie isn't on  )

Phil just did Blaze of Glory and I thought he did a really good job. Simon didn't agree, but whatevah....I liked it!

Jordin is going to do Living on a Prayer. Hmm.....got my fingers crossed that it goes well.

    LOVE JORDIN'S HAIR!! :D :D

I loved her hair, too! It was kind of wild, but it was pretty cool.

The song, on the other hand, was not so cool. Not a good choice for her...she should have picked a ballad or something in a better key for her voice.

ETA: Holy crap Latisha's doing This Ain't a Love Song....I love this song...always makes me cry.

He just kissed her. AND he likes her lips. Good for her!!!

For the most part, I liked it. I didn't think it was as emotional as the original, but in all reality, I'm horribly biased so my opinion really shouldn't count for much on this one. :D

Really like Blake's performance, that was unique, and impressive.

I can't believe I'm going to say this.......

I liked Blake's rendition of Bad Name. Not as much as the original, of course, but wow....that was pretty freakin' amazing!

Chris did a good job with Wanted, I just don't think his voice is right for that song. I agreed with Simon when he said that Chris did the best he could with that song.

(Chris Daughtry did an amazing job with it last year....I have the single and it rocks!)

I'll agree with that statement. Blake did a dance mix vocally, that was just really impressive.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping for something other than the most popular/well-known songs. I knew they wouldn't sing material that was totally unknown, although This Ain't a Love Song wasn't a big single for them. I would have loved to hear Born to be My Baby, Who Says You Can't Go Home, Wild in the Streets....some of the great live songs. Or some of the great ballads like Bed of Roses, Livin' in Sin, Diamond Ring, Thank You for Lovin' Me, etc. And, not to say he sucked, but I would have loved to have heard a better version of Wanted than what Chris did.

I normally like Jordin, but this was not her week that's for sure. She didn't seem to know how to pick the right song for her voice like Lakisha and Melinda did.

I thought Phil did good. Then Lakisha came out and I thought she did circles around him. Then Blake came out and I thought he did a fantastic rendition. . . unique. . . my husband and I both loved it. Then Melinda came out and again her vocals did circles around the others.

I would say in order of how I liked last night's performances it would be: Melinda and Blake tied for first, Lakisha, Phil, Chris and Jordin.

I think Lakisha needed last night's performance to keep her from getting eliminated.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by most everyone last night. I was expecting it to be an overall trainwreck. I really liked Phil. Jordin was awful. I was rooting for her, but it just was not good. Her voice sounded very shaky and I don't think it was a good song choice at all. There was major controversy on the radio this morning over Blake’s performance, but I thought it was good. People were saying Bon Jovi songs just shouldn't be messed with, but how do you not mess with something, yet make it your own? I don't care for Chris, but he did better than I expected.

    My thoughts:

Phil - did great! For some reason though, even though I think he's been great lately, I don't see him being hugely successful if he wins/gets an album.

LaKisha - fantastic. She's back. Her lower register is stronger and she didn't sound at all "screamy" like the judges said she did the past few weeks. I think her performance this week may be enough to save her from a few weeks of weaker performances.

Jordin - loved the hair, the performance - not so much. Her lower register is very weak. On the chorus/higher notes she sounded good. Loved her attitude though during the judges' critiques.

Blake - love love loved him. Part of me almost thought he did a little too much beat-boxing, but I still thought he was fantastic. He's still my favorite to win it all (though he probably won't). Not so much a fan of the darker hair though.

Chris - when I heard what song he was doing, I thought it would be awful. He definitely didn't do it nearly as well as Daughtry last year, but he actually did surprise me with how well he pulled it off. I still don't love him though - he's my least favorite of the remaining contestants.

Melinda - agree with all who said she's channeling Tina Turner. Not my favorite in terms of style (I probably wouldn't buy her album) but I must admit she's got it going on.

See, I was annoyed by Jordin's attitude with the judges. I felt like she was basically saying, "Yeah, I sucked and I knew I was going to and that's okay." No it's not. Pick a better song! Make an effort to do the best you can.

I like Jordin but last night was definitely not her night. It is obvious that she is being pushed as a front runner because the judges weren't nearly as harsh as they could've been. If that was anyone else they would've ripped them a new one.

I thought everyone else did pretty well except Chris. His voice is just too whiny, nasally and chipmunky and it's obvious the fame has gone to his head. Definitely thinking he will go home tonight. As for who else will go home, I have no clue probably Phil or Blake.

Phil - Very good. However, I think everyone knew that this theme would be totally in his wheelhouse. If he hadn't hit it out, the only honorable thing to do would have been to turn in his mic and resign right then and there. That's not a criticism...I'm just saying.

Jordin - Bad, but I will say that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. And I was OK with the big hair. The rest of the look needed to go, however. But was I hearing things or did Randy and Paula basically congratulate her for sucking? The pimping of Jordin continues.

LaKisha - I really enjoyed this. A great song choice, and all the more remarkable since song choice has been her downfall for quite a while now. Also, I gotta give her props for taking the opportunity to kiss Simon, because the good lord knows I wouldn't pass up a chance to suck face with that man. LaKisha really reached down deep and made a huge bid to stay. I hope it's enough to save her.

Blake - Fun, entertaining, interesting, hot, sexy, creative, unique, hot, sexy, and fun. This is the Blake that I fell in love with. Definitely a defining performance for him. *sigh* (The hair color, however, is a no for me. Still love, but no.)

Chris - He really suffered for going after Blake. I just find him flat, boring and forgettable. Less nasally this week though.

Melinda - Damn. Girlfriend was hot tonight. I don't know if it was my favorite performance of hers </Randy> but considering how far out of her genre she was, I thought it was pretty fabulous. She owns the stage, and it seems like all the personality she shows while singing is now coming out even when she's not singing. I think she's really come out of her shell.

I've said it before but I'll say it again...it terms of knowing how to perform, how to put together the whole package, Blake and Melinda are light years ahead of the others.

I thought everyone was good except for Jordin and while I thought Chris did a good job, it was not the best. I agree with everyone that Lakisha, Melinda (! You all know how I feel, I don't usuaslly have love for Melinda), Blake and Phil were the best.

I would love to see Blake win this competition...

I was also hoping they would do some of Bon Jovi's lesser known songs - I wanted someone to sing "Always"....

I was wondering why they didn't have Melinda go between Blake and Chris. I thought they tried to alternate the guys and girls as much as possible in the line up.

Jordin should have done the acoustic version of Livin on a Prayer. A slower song would have been much better for her.

Overall I was pretty impressed last night - I too thought it was going to be a train wreck.

I am still madly in love with Jon Bon Jovi. He looks better than ever!

From everyone's comments so far, I guess the show was pretty good last night. I'm sorry I missed it.

So since everyone is saying how great Jordin's hair was, I looked on the AI website to check out her style and products (like someone posted last time) but I couldn't find any info. Anyone have the info?
