Suave Aloe Vera Gel Poll

I don't think there has been a product on this site that has been mentioned so often for being so inexpensive and effective for so many people as Suave Aloe Vera Gel. This product costs less than $2.00 for a giant bottle and has gotten so many rave reviews. It definitely reinforces the theory that Paula Begoun has put forth that there are good and bad products in all product lines and price categories. So what is it that makes this product a hit for so many but unsuccessful for some others? Does it depend on hair type, product combining, or some other factor? Here are a few polls to see if we can find out what makes this product tick.
3c fine-textured shoulder-length spirals with layered cut. I Like Pantene relaxed & nat. condish, biolage gelee, and Suave aloe gel. Cutting my own hair these days, and I'm a plopper too!

I voted that I could take it or leave it. It works just as good as most gels, but there's nothing about it that makes it stand out. The performance is okay; I get nice, defined curls, but half way through the day they fall out. It also doesn't stand up very well to Georgia humidity. However, when I mix the gel with another product, currently Nolita Styling Glue, I get great hold. I'm mixed. :?
Shampoo: anything that smells good and empties my wallet
    Conditioner: ditto
Mousse: experimenting, but currently HE and Sunsilk.
Gel: When my hair was longer, I LOVED Batia and Aleeza, combined with ABBA.

I voted "fair", because at the end of the day my hair would feel dry. I'm not using it anymore, but it wasn't a bad product.

I said take it or leave it cause I have to mix it with Suave Smoothing Glaze Gel or Generic Gelee to get any hold. Then it's OK. On it's own I find the scent overpowering and it has zero hold (but zero crunch). Don't see a reason to use it on it's own.
I have finally realized I look my best when my hair tells me how it is going to fall, and I just make suggestions.

I voted that I could take it or leave it...I also notice dryness at the end of the day while using it, and really, I like the Suave kid's apple gel better.... doesn't make my hair dry, has a normal amount of hold (I don't need too much) AND it smells great! Very nice.
    I think I'm a 2c-3a (or 2C/3aMii)

erthe out of erthe is wonderly wroughte...
