Some info on Ojon

The Beauty Brains is a blog kept by two cosmetic scientists, in which they help the average beauty shopper understand the science behind beauty products. It's really neat and informative.

Since so many of us are enamored with Ojon around here (myself included!), I thought this article might be of interest:

On a quasi-related note... I started using the Ojon Ultra Hydrating Conditioner and I LOVE it. It doesn't weight my hair down at all, but my hair is shiny and curls beautifully. I actually find it works better for me than the RHT.

thanks, Sass. I need to bookmark that site. It looks interesting. Someone also pointed this site out when I had questions about silicone.

I need to pull out my coconut oil again. I haven't done a pre-shampoo cocconut oil treatment in a while.

I tried the Ojon ultra hydrating co a couple of years ago and liked it, too. I think I got a kit from QVC that had the treatment, shampoo, and conditioner. I liked the products, but couldn't justify the cost.

Word of caution to anyone wanting to try ojon -- the smell is strong. I liked it, though.

Hmm...I don't know if I completely agree with them. I have tried coconut oil on my hair before. I also have Ojon's restorative treatment on my hair right now for the first time. The texture is diff. from coconut oil in my opinion. It feels better for some reason. We shall see if the results are any different....coconut oil didn't really do much for my hair that I could tell.

Great site. I don't really agree either about the coconut oil vs. the Ojon. I've used both and I like both, but Ojon I use as an overnight pre-treatment

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.

That's a very interesting site. Thanks for sharing it.
My hair doesn't like coconut oil but loves Ojon. I don't know why.
I'm addicted to the smell of Ojon and would probably use it as a body oil even if my hair didn't like it.
I got mine on ebay for much less that $55. And it lasts a long time.

I thought of picking up the resotrative treatment on ebay just to satisfy the PJ urge. I think the rest of the stuff has protein, so it's off limits, but that treatment sure does look nice!

I think they're just dealing with the straight-out science, and not how things react to people's individual hair. So good point, everyone who pointed that out. :)

But yeah, the Beauty Brains is a great site. Very educational!

I'm not of the mindset that the two are exactly alike either but I see where they're coming from.
I had to comment because I was really surprised they didn't mention just using unrefined coconut oil in place of a coconut oil based product.
