Suave Professionals

Does anyone still use the Suave Professionals Healthy Curls Conditioner?

I shouldn't have tried a search for Suave & another search for Healthy Curls because I got too many results for Suave, healthy & curls.

I also looked on the Product Reviews under CurlProducts but it wasn't there.

I thought maybe I'd give this conditioner a try when the rest of my conditioner stash is gone.

I haven't used it in a long time, but I remember that it smells like male cologne. :?

I remember reading that about it, but I can't remember if anyone wrote that it was/wasn't good for moisturizing, detangling & clumping.

I used it and liked it but I am not on the Curly Girl routine and I don't have problems with cones and sulfates. It has ALS in the shampoo and cyclopentasiloxane in the conditioner.

No, it doesn't. The condish only has dimethiconol. I have it in my shower.
    OMG, LOOK!!

    ...It's a siggie.

I had a feeling Laurabeth tried this, so I started reading her The Conditioner Chronicles again & found this on page 2.
GOOD BUT WOULD REPURCHASE BECAUSE SO INEXPENSIVE:
Suave Professionals Healthy Curls Conditioner (& %)
Primary Positive: encouraged curls, good clumping, volumeous
    Primary Fault: frizz throughout
My curls looked great with this conditioner—very 3-D and volumeous. Great curl shape. Good definition size. Consistantly curly all around. The fragrance did smell awful and lingered until hair is bone dry and resurfaced when I dampened it—smelt like aftershave meets an old lady smell—very weird. Frizz started at ends and moved to in/between-the-curls and then all over and frizz uncurled the curls some but not completely. I'd say this is the best of the Suave Professionals…if you can get past the fragrance.
water (aqua), cetearyl alcohol, centrimonium chloride, dimethiconol, fragrance (parfum), quaternium-18, potassium chloride, hydroethylcellulose, propylene glycol, disodium edta, dmdm hydantoin, tea-dodecylbenzenesulfonate, glycerin, coconut oil, methylchloroisothiazolinone, hydrolyzed milk protein, methylisothiazolinone, honey extract

If it had any of the -xane silicones in it, she wouldn't have tried it.

That's two votes for "bad scent". I hope I can get past that.

So, wild_sasparilla, does it do for you what it did for Laurabeth? Does the scent bother you too?

They may have changed the formula for the conditioner, according to suaves refreshed website it shows the bad cone as an ingredient in the healthy curls condish.
    3b/a
    Cowash - No Poo
    Conditioner - One Condition
    Gel - Light Defining Gel

Looking to try Devacurl Decadence line next! Can't wait to try it.

Then I'd better run off to the grocery store we use, which doesn't get anything new until the shelf needs restocked!

That can be a good thing; to be able to get the rest of a good formula before the bad takes over. But then it can also be a bad thing; can't get a good formula until the bad runs out. *SIGH*

I wonder why they had to go and mess up a good thing? Geez, that stuff was getting great raves everywhere...

I couldn't find all the great reviews!

I'd get 12,000-some results when I searched here for "Suave Healthy Curls" because the search engine found each individual word.

Basically the same thing happened when I searched for just Suave & then when I searched for just Healthy Curls.

So I decided to go to the Suave website & sure as crap they did reformulate their Professionals Healthy Curls Conditioner to include cyclopentasiloxane, as well as some of the other Professionals Conditioners: Daily Moisture & Sleek!!!

Aw, man! Good thing I've moved on to other condishes...I'll just have to remember this so I won't want to repurchase while I'm getting back to the Healthy Curls in my rotation. And yes, I got good results with it too - especially considering I used the matching shampoo! I liked it, I had nice curl formation too; and it seems it's been changed twice...the scent of my first bottle was light, but my second was all men's cologney. And now of course I can't get more. Dang.

Well, I went "combat shopping". I had to go to three stores, thankfully within a less than 10 minute drive.

The Sleek has cyclo...xane, maybe it always has. :? I've never used it so I wouldn't know. I found that in two stores.

I couldn't find the Daily Moisture in any of the three stores unless I wasn't looking hard enough.

I found Healthy Curls without the -xane cone at the third store, but there weren't many on the shelf.

I decided to buy just one bottle since people complain about the scent & I might not like it too. Although mine doesn't have a strong scent, from the bottle. Maybe it's stronger when a tbsp, + or -, is put on the hair. I'll see someday!
