The springiness of curls

I used phytojoba shampoo on my last wash and it was wonderful, but has left my hair slightly overconditioned.

Well, I'm not sure if it's overconditioned, but it's certainley very very soft. It has no icky crunchy feeling that some shampoos give. But as a result my curls are much looser. They still clump well, they're still defined. But they don't SPRING. y'kno, when you pull a curl down and it springs back up by an inch or two.

Now my hair is capable of such springiness. I am prone to natural ringlets which spring very well. I find I mostly get these springy curls when I've been at the beach and I have salt in my hair and suchlike.

SO my question is - is spring good? For me it would seem that the better condition my hair is in, the less it springs and is bouncy. But I left the tight curls and the bounciness. I just wish I could get them when my hair felt this soft and wasn't slightly dried or frizzed out.

Any thoughts/experience on the issue of springiness vs. super soft curls?

It's a balance isn't it between soft and spring
I like spring myself. That means my hair isn't weighed down and it can do it's natural thing. I have to be careful of the weight of gels and conditioners. I'd rather have springy hair that looks good than soft hair myself.

I prefer it when I get tighter curls, so I'd rather they be springy.

I agree - I do prefer springy, so do you think to get springier curls hair needs to be a little drier?

Maybe you need to use a gel/styler with more hold? If your hair is super-soft underneath, you shouldn't have to worry too much about crunch.
