...blue team! We had a doctor appointment and sonogram this morning, and they were able to tell the sex - we're having a boy! I'm so excited, and of course my husband is just beaming.

It seems like so many curlies are having or have had boys. :D

Are boys easier to conceive than girls?

Have no idea if it works this way, BUT -

I read that boy sperm are faster swimmers, but they die sooner. Girl sperm are slower, but they live longer, so if you have sex BEFORE you start ovulating, the boy sperm will get there quicker, but die off before you actually start to ovulate.

If you have sex closer to your ovulation date, or as your ovulating, the boy sperm will get there in time, and you'll have a better chance of having a boy.

    CONGRATULATIONS PIXIE!!

Hmmm...maybe there is a correlation between curly haired women having boys...

Maybe so, shelli. I've been straightening my hair and I'm having a girl.

    Pix,

Have you started tossing around names yet?? You have to name him after someone deceased right??

We have tossed around a few ideas. We're looking at the letters "S" and "H" after my grandmother Selma and my grandfather Henry. We also want to use a Bible name - so there are definitely more S options than H. Maybe we'll use H for the middle name.

I guess since I've known so many couples that were "trying for the boy," I figured it was the other way around.

congrats and welcome to the team! Boys are all I know but they are a hoot and keep you on your toes. Plus they gravitate to each other so you'll end up with a household of toddler boys before you know it.

oops! Just realized it sounded like you'd have your own household of toddler boys. Nah, just meant that with friends over a house with just 3 toddler boys seems like you have a herd of elephants in the house. They sure are fun but they can throw moms of younger babies or more laid back kids for a loop to watch them move and play.
