I always keep my hair braided and am new to hair types. I would love some feedback on what kind of hair type you think I have. I took these pics about 3 minutes after I Co washed this portion of hair. There were still droplets of water in my hair 3 minutes after I rinsed it. I would love to hear what you think my curl type is, my porosity and density. I am taking these braids out soon and want to be ready with a plan in mind. Thanks in advance. I’m open to all feedback.

Welcome!  It's really hard to tell what your curl type is in those pictures.  It looks like a 4C, but with a little product you might be able to coax out some more curls and definition, which may put you in a different category.

Try taking the Texture Quiz - https://www.naturallycurly.com/quiz  This should help you figure out more about the qualities of your hair.

From those pictures, I'd guess it's a 4b.  But I think you'll have to wait until all the braids are out and you wash, moisturize, style to see what they really are.  You might have different patterns through your head, it might curl up tighter, or looser.  Show us a picture when once all your braids are out.  I love seeing before/afters!

I belive you have 4c hair. It's much tighter than 4a hair and 4b hair tends to zigzag.

Your curls seem to be brushed out so it's not easy to tell. Did you comb your hair before braiding it? I expect that you did. Combing disrupts the curl pattern and for us type 4 curlies, the curls will need a lot of coaxing to come back after being brushed out. So you might need to cowash and strictly finger detangle a number of times before your curls start to be defined. If your curl pattern is not easy to define, then you'll probably need to use a curl enhancing product or a gel too to bring the curls out.

It's always difficult for me to tell the difference between the 4s hair types when it's wet like that. My hair could look like that if it's wet with a conditioner that doesn't define my curls. I am 4a but to me all the 4 hair types kinda look like that if wet and undefined.

Maybe try using some gel just to define the curls and take another picture.
