general curly hair advice

i use to deal with straightening my hair every two weeks or so while i was younger, because that's what my mom and i wanted. however, this damaged my hair and left some straight pieces in between my curls.

i currently have high porosity, and i'm pretty sure my curls are 3c. i use shea moisture products, deep condition with the jbco strengthen and restore masque, and have been thinking of doing a protein treatment with greek yogurt because of the proteins it contains. is there any advice someone may have for me? ( growth tips, recommended products, etc )

You're doing all the right things. Keep your hair moisturized and definitely add in a protein treatment every couple of weeks. That will keep your hair strong and help it to grow.

The proteins in greek yogurt (or any other kind) are too big to penetrate the hair shaft. Try fermented rice water or gelatine treatment instead, I am sure you will notice the difference.

The shea butter in Shea Moisture products causes a problem for some people. It can create build-up on the hair, leaving the hair feeling dry, heavy, and coated. Not everyone's hair reacts this way, but it's something to keep your eye on in case your hair starts feeling strange.
